Notice is hereby given that the Coppell Recreation Development Corporation of the
City of Coppell, Texas, met in the 2nd Floor Conference Room at 6:30 pm at 255 E.
Parkway Boulevard.
As authorized by Section 551.127, of the Texas Government Code, one or more
appointed board member or employees may attend this meeting remotely using
videoconferencing technology.
The purpose of this meeting was to consider the following items:

1. Call To Order
President Straach called the meeting to order at 6:32 pm.
Members present:
Aaron Straach, Thomas Dwyer, Majid Husain, Kevin Nevels, Wes Mays,
Rohinton Karanjia (virtual), George Cooper

President Straach advised that no one signed up to speak.
This agenda item provides an opportunity for citizens to address the Board or Commission on
any matter. Anyone wishing to address the Board or Commission should register prior to the
start of the meeting. There is a two (2) minute time limit for each citizen to speak, additional
time may be granted by the Board or Commission.
The Board or Commission is not permitted to take action on any subject raised by a speaker
during Citizens' Appearance.
3. PUBLIC HEARING: To receive public comments concerning the
proposed 2023-2024 CRDC Work Program Projects.
President Straach opened the public hearing and advised that no one had
signed up to speak. A motion was made by Boardmember Nevels, seconded
by Boardmember Husain, that the public hearing be closed. The motion carried
by a unanimous vote.
4. Consider approval of minutes: August 21, 2023
A motion was made by Vice President Dwyer, seconded by Boardmember
Mays, that this agenda item be approved. The motion carried by a unanimous
vote.
5. Consider approval of funding the replacement of the outdoor
waterslide tower at The CORE, in the amount of $219,000.00.
A motion was made by Boardmember Mays, seconded by Boardmember
Husain, that this agenda item be approved with the correction of $152,174 to be
funded by CRDC and $66,826 funded out of the 17 account. The motion carried
by a unanimous vote.
6. Consider approval of funding the design services for the Veterans
Memorial project in the amount of $186,761.
A motion was made by Vice President Dwyer, seconded by Boardmember
Husain, that this agenda item be approved. The motion carried by a unanimous
vote.
7. Liaison's Report
Liaison Jessica Carpenter informed the board that there could possibly be a
meeting on October 13, but if not we will meet on November 13. There are
currently no items set for December.
Adjournment
With there being no further business to come before the CRDC, the meeting
was adjourned at 6:53 pm.
