ROLL CALL Present: 7 - Board Member Bello,Board Member Bello,Board Member Arevalo,Board Member Arevalo,Board Member Daley,Board Member Permuy and Board Member Miller APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES 18-7006 Construction Regulation Board Minutes of January 8, 2018 Mr. Arevalo was absent from the January hearing and did not vote. Ms. Miller was not a member of the Board in January and did not vote. This Agenda Item was approved Yeas: 4- Board Member Bello,Board Member Bello,Board Member Daley and Board Member Permuy Excused: 2- Board Member Arevalo and Board Member Miller PUBLIC HEARING 18-7005 11925 Old Cutler Road (3 Structures) Respondent's were present. The owner shall recertify the structure within 180 days of the Board's Order, March 13, 2018. If the requirement is not completed within the 180 days the owner shall pay a daily fine of $250 for each day the violation continues. A motion was made by Board Member Arevalo, seconded by Board Member Permuy, that this matter be approved. The motion passed by the following vote. Yeas: 6- Board Member Bello,Board Member Bello,Board Member Arevalo,Board Member Daley,Board Member Permuy and Board Member Miller 18-7004 6500 Red Road Owner was granted an administrative extension prior to the meeting. OLD BUSINESS None NEW BUSINESS Ms. Daley nominated Mr. Bello for Chairperson of the Board. Mr. Arevalo seconded the nomination. Members unanimously approved. Ms. Miller nominated Ms. Daley for Vice Chairperson of the Board. Mr. Arevalo seconded the nomination. Members unanimously approved. City of Coral Gables Page 1 Construction Regulation Board Meeting Minutes March 12, 2018 Cristina Suarez, Deputy City Attorney & City Prosecutor, introduced the new Assistant City Attorney, Gustavo Ceballos. Update by the Secretary: 1. The Department of Business and Professional Regulation has filed an administrative complaint against contractor the Board forwarded to the State for review. Penalties to the contractor are pending. 2. Expired Permit(s) letters are being mailed to contractors and the property owners are mailed a copy. 3. The 2018 Building Recertification Notices were mailed via Certified Mail March 6th to property owners. 4. Property owners are complying with building recertification requirements. Clapping, applauding, heckling or verbal outbursts or any remarks in support or opposition to a speaker shall be prohibited . Signs or placards shall not be permitted in Commission Chambers. Any person, who acts as a lobbyist pursuant to the City of Coral Gables Ordinance No . 2006-11, as amended, must register with the City Clerk prior to engaging in lobbying activities before City Staff, Boards, Committees or City Commission. A copy of the Ordinance is available in the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall. If a person decides to appeal any decision made by a Board, Committee or City Commission with respect to any matter considered at a meeting or hearing, that person will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based (F.S. 286.0105). Any meeting may be opened and continued and, under certain circumstances, additional legal notice will not be provided.
