DID NOT MEET QUORUM a. Roll Call and Excusal of Absences Present: 3 - Board member Erik Rodriguez, Chair Carlos Hernandez, and Board member Maite Halley Excused: 5 - Board member Aaron Aizenstat, Board member Jennifer Marquez, Board member Yamilet Rodriguez, Board member Ellen Chasens, Board member Antonio Gonzalez. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES a. Approval of January Meeting Minutes DIRECTOR'S REPORT City of Coral Gables Page 1 Parks and Recreation Advisory Meeting Minutes February 8, 2024 Board a. General Updates Director Couceyro informed the board about the Granada Diner project. The board will be shown Cooper Park and Moore Park's non-voting design shortly. Director Couceyro updated the board about venetian pool. His concern is underground pipelines. Before spring break, he discussed renovating the bathrooms and plumbing. Director Couceyro further elaborated on the adventure night event that took place in Salvador Park, stating that everything ran smoothly. Director Couceyro inquired of Board member Maite Halley for additional information regarding Poppy. Board member Maite Halley said that she will contact Ingrid and follow up on pickleball installation. b. Special Events Director Couceyro proceeded to update the board on the forthcoming events for the month of February, including The Coral Gables Farmers Market - Saturday, Feb 3 - Mar 30 at 8 a.m., Movies Under the Gables Moonlight - Featuring Big – Feb 16 at 6 p.m. and Daddy Daughter Dance – Saturday, Feb 10 at 6:30 p.m. c. Administrative Updates Director Couceyro updated the parks advisory board on the history and schematic designs of Cooper Park and Moore Park by providing information on the following: site location, nature-based playground concept, site plan and fitness trail amenities, fitness trail fitness equipment expansion, and shrubbery.
