Approval of January Meeting Minutes A MOTION TO APPROVE THE JANUARY MEETINGS MINUTES WAS MADE BY ANGELICA SANTELIZ AND SECOND BY GABRIELLA R. CHONG. ALL IN FAVOR; PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. SUPERVISOR'S REPORT City of Coral Gables Page 1 Parks and Recreation Youth Meeting Minutes February 7, 2024 Advisory Board a. General Updates Supervisor Carlos Pichardo began his report by discussing the upcoming spring sports. Carlos Pichardo then provided the board with an update regarding the CG Youth Center's preparations for summer camp and summer hiring. b. Special Events Supervisor Carlos Pichardo announced the Daddy Daughter Dance that will take place this Saturday, February 10th. Their theme this year will be Cherry Blossom Ball. For more details, please see our playgables.com website. Supervisor Carlos continued to announce forthcoming activities for the upcoming months, including the City of Coral Gables Easter Egg Hunt and Gables Family Literacy Festival. c. Administrative Updates Administrative Assistant Susan quickly went over some of our upcoming events, which include the Coral Gables Farmers Market - Saturday, Feb 10 - Mar 30 at 8 a.m. and Movies Under the Gables Moonlight - Featuring Parent Big – February 16 at 6 p.m. and Valentine Milonga Rouge at the Country Club – Wednesday, Feb 14 at 7p.m. NEW BUSINESS OLD BUSINESS a. Selection of Board Member at Large A MOTION TO ELECT NICOLE HOOVER AS THE BOARD-AS-A-WHOLE OF THE CORAL GABLES PARKS AND RECREATION YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD WAS MADE BY ANGELICA SANTELIZ AND SECOND BY GABRIELLA R. CHONG. ALL IN FAVOR; PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. b. Social media accounts Board member Angelica Santeliz inquired about social media accounts with the personnel. Supervisor Carlos continued by explaining that since Community Recreation already has an Instagram account, it is not feasible for the Youth Center to create a separate account.
