City of Coralville Board of Adjustment Meeting April 25, 2016 Staff: Jim Kessler, Building & Zoning Official and Dee Marshek, Administrative Assistant Item 1: Meeting called to order 6:00 PM Item 2: Member present: Boucher, Szczech, Knudson and Nicola. Absent: Wells Item 3: Approval of March 21, 2016 Minutes. Knudson: Motion to approve. Boucher: 2nd Motion Motion carried: 4-0 Item 4: Public Hearing request for a Conditional Use Permit of a Lawn & Garden Center for Lowe’s Home Improvement located at 2701 2nd Street. Public Hearing Open: Public Hearing Close: Kessler explains the reason for the new permit. He states that Lowe’s has always had an enclosed and covered lawn and garden area as part of the building structure. But, the store has been using the south and east parking lot for stacking pallet merchandise which utilizes the required parking spaces. Knudson: Questions the time limits for this Conditional Use Permit. Kessler: This is a 90 day permit based on the parking spaces used, but can be renewed upon requested and additional permit fees. Boucher: Motion to approve. Knudson: Motion 2nd. Motion Carried: 4 – 0 Item 5: Adjourn Meeting @ 6:05 PM Boucher: Motion to Adjourn. Szczech: Motion 2nd.
