City of Coralville Board of Adjustment Meeting January 27, 2020 Staff: Jim Kessler, Building and Zoning Official and Dee Marshek, Administrative Assistant 1. Call meeting to order 6:00 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Nicola, Nesbett, Pearl, Borde and Wise 3. Approve October 21, 2019 Minutes. Nicola: Motion to approve the Minutes as amended. Motion Carried: 5-0 4. Announce /acknowledge new members and election of new Co-chair for 2020. Jim Kessler briefs and acknowledges Borde and Wise as new members. Nicola volunteers to serve as Co-Chair for 2020. Nicola: Motion to Approve. Wise: 2nd Motion Motion Carried: 5-0 5. Public Hearing request by Jeffery W. and Cynthia M. Henderickson is for a Variance to Section 165.21 (6) (B) Front Yard Setback of the City’s Ordinances. This property is located at 2900 /2901 Pine Hill Trace. Public Hearing Open: Jeffery Hendrickson owner of lots 130 & 131 Pine Hill Trace explains his request for an additional 4ft front yard setback in order to build a home on this property. He explains the site plan, the sloping rear yard and how the house with attached garage will set on the lots. Kessler states the concerns about the soil and wetland area at the back of the lots. Public Hearing Closed:  Members and Kessler continue to discuss the site plan and building concerns that may require additional engineering because of the conditions at the back of these lots. a) Consider approval of the Variance.
