CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION Minutes of February 6, 2020 Present: Commission Members Eve Casserly; Josh Schamberger; and Lauren Merritt; Human Resource/Risk Manager Mike Funke; Chief of Police Shane Kron Meeting was called to order at 1:17 PM. Approve Agenda: Motion by Schamberger; Second by Merritt; Motion passed all ayes. Approve Minutes of December 4, 2019 meeting Motion by Schamberger; Second by Merritt; Motion passed all ayes. Consider Certification of the Police Officer Hiring List Funke presented the Police Officer hiring list. He and Chief Kron reported that testing with JCSO produced many more applications, the attendance was about the same as experienced in the past. The number of interviews conducted was lower than the year before, 26. He presented a list of 4 candidates for approval. This again is a small number similar to last year however the interview committee believed it is better to test again if the list does not last an entire year than to put a “maybe” person on the list. Funke gave each member a brief bio of the 4 on the list. He reminded the commission that although presented in rank order, if approved, Chief Kron may hire in any order. Motion by Merritt; Second by Schamberger; Motion passed all ayes. Other Business None Motion to Adjourn Motion by Merritt; Second by Schamberger; Motion passed all ayes.
