CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION Minutes of October 27, 2021 Present: Commission Members Eve Casserly; Josh Schamberger; Human Resource/Risk Manager Mike Funke; Lt. De Summers Meeting was called to order at 12:07 PM. Approve Agenda: Motion by Schamberger; Second by Casserly; Motion passed all ayes. Approve Minutes of July 14, 2021 meeting Motion by Schamberger; Second by Casserly; Motion passed all ayes. Consider Decertification of the July 14, 2021 Police Officer Hiring List Funke informed the committee that the list approved July 14, 2021 was no longer viable. Of the three on the list two have been hired by the Coralville Police Department. The third did not pass the background investigation. Motion by Schamberger; Second by Casserly; Motion passed all ayes. Consider Certification of the Police Officer Hiring List Funke presented a list of one for the commission to consider. He gave a brief bio of the candidate. Funke mentioned only 4 were interviewed out of a potential 13 applicants who showed up for the testing. Motion by Schamberger; Second by Casserly; Motion passed all ayes. Other Business It is anticipated that a hiring process will be needed again since having only one on the list will not be enough to fill all of the openings within the department. Funke will keep the committee informed of exact dates. Motion to Adjourn Motion by Schamberger; Second by Casserly; Motion passed all ayes.
