HISTORIC/ARCHITECTURAL BOARD Historic and/or Architectural Advisory Board City of Cortland February 17, 2015 A regular meeting of the Historic and/or Architectural Review Board was held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, in the Mayor’s Conference Room at City Hall at 8:00 a.m. The meeting was originally to be held on February 10, 2015 but was re-scheduled due to a lack of a quorum. Present: Chairman Linda Kline, Commissioners Christine Barnes, Richard Stock, Pam Abbott, Mary Ann Kane Absent: Commissioner Karina Murphy, Dan Dineen Staff Present: Deputy Fire Chief Bill Knickerbocker, Zoning Officer Bob Rhea, Secretary Shellie Blaisdell Item #1 – 51-55 Main Street – (Pothos/Griswold) - New façade renovations to Main Street, Court Street and back of building - Trim to be painted black to match existing new windows and doors dark bronze Peter Griswold presented the application for the project at 55-55 Main Street. The proposed renovations were reviewed by the board. A motion was made by Comm. Barnes to accept the proposed application in full. The motion was seconded by Comm. Stock. Motion by: Comm. Stock Approved: Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Item #2 – 94 Tompkins Street – (Babjack) - Completion of side deck – 24’ x 12’ deck patio with railing - 8’ x 8’ – 2 set of steps The proposal for materials, the decking will be a gray composite material, the steps off the decks will be made of same composite material as deciding. Railings around deck will be a white prefabricated vinyl material done in the same style as the front entrance porch. White composite lattice will skirt the deck. They will shingle the dormers and existing clapboard on the driveway side of the house to match the existing house shingles. The shingle color will be the same as the house color. A motion was made by Comm. Stock to accept the deck, shingles and paint as presented and was seconded by Comm. Abbott. The board indicates to include the other deck be redone at some time in the future to mimic this new one. Motion by: Comm. Stock Seconded by: Comm. Abbott Approved: Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 CITY OF CORTLAND – MARCH 10, 2015  HISTORIC/ARCHITECTURAL BOARD Item #3 – 46 Main Street – (Jumpin’ Jax, LLC-Langendoerfer) - Signage The proposal is to put three (3) signs in the front window panel – the graphics include a chicken on wheels. All material is vinyl-the decal size is 22%. A motion was made by Comm. Stock to approve the signs with the recommendation to move the phone number and Delivery to balance it out. The motion was seconded by Comm. Kane. Motion by: Comm. Stock Seconded by: Comm. Kane Approved: Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Minutes of January 13, 2015 – minutes will be reviewed at the next meeting. New Business/Old Business:  The Beach House Mall – there are 2 panels one is pushed back and the other side is loaded with papers. Bob can you bring to their attention to take that off or come before the board.  77-79 Main Street – applicant Kevin Penney states the owner will correct and comply with what was previously approved for the windows. The board asked for a response/statement in writing.  Comm. Dineen reminded the board of the training to be held at the County Office Building on March 16, 2015 for those who would like to attend.
