CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL Call to Order Chairperson Greene called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Roll Call Present: Chairperson Holly Greene, Commissioner John Williams, Commissioner Mike Muldoon, Commissioner Ray Altman Absent: Vice-Chairperson Brad Kime Others: Eric Taylor II. PUBLIC COMMENT – none. III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Approval of the minutes of the regular meeting of March 8, 2018. On a motion by Commissioner Williams, seconded by Commissioner Altman, and carried unanimously 4-0, the City of Crescent City Planning Commission approved the meeting minutes for March 8, 2018. IV. PUBLIC HEARINGS A. Project: Use Permit & Architectural review for a smoke shop/convenience store in the C-2 (General Commercial) District Applicant: Waleed Fayzi Site Address: 1180 Ninth Street APN: 118-480-03 Background & Project Description: The applicant is requesting a Use Permit and architectural review for a smoke shop /convenience store located a 1180 Ninth Street. The subject location is developed with an approximately 6,000 sqft commercial building and parking lot. At one time the building was occupied by Dollar Tree however, currently the building is vacant. The subject property is located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Ninth Street and Highway 101. The applicant is not proposing any exterior modifications to the building. Due to an incomplete application, the Planning Commission moved to continue this item to the next regular meeting on May 10, 2018. V. UNFINISHED BUSINESS A. No items VI. NEW BUSINESS A. Project: Architectural Review for an approximately 4’ x 8’ mural in the CZ-C2 (Coastal Zone-General Commercial) District to be displayed on the City of Crescent City Wastewater Treatment Plant Facility. Applicant: Local Chapter of the Girl Scouts Site Address: 210 Battery St APN: 118-030-11 The local Girl Scout Chapter gave a presentation on this project. On a motion by Commissioner Altman, seconded by Commissioner Muldoon, carried unanimously 4-0, the City of Crescent City Planning Commission approved the Project for a mural on the City of Crescent City Wastewater Treatment Plan Facility. B. Presentation on the Pebble Beach Drive Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvement Project Applicant: City of Crescent City Site Address: Pebble Beach Drive from 6th Street to Preston The Commissioners received a Power Point presentation by Nacole Sutterfield, Engineering Project Manager on the Pebble Beach Drive Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvement Project. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Approval of the minutes of the March 8, 2018 regular meeting. IV. CONSENT CALENDAR: These items are routine in nature, are consistent with the Crescent City General Plan, Municipal Code, and State Government Code, are exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act, and are recommended for approval. Action on all items in the Consent Calendar will be taken without discussion by a single motion, unless a Commissioner, staff or member of the public requests that an item be removed from the Consent Calendar for discussion.
