Crawford, and Council Member Mike Turner Others present were City Manager Greg Wood, City Attorney Randy York, City Clerk Valerie Hale, Steve Threet, John Conrad, Levonn Hubbard, Cheryl Duncan, Steve Powell, Joe Kerley, Melissa Coudriet, Roberta Luetkemeyer, Burt Allaire, Dustin Lester, Jessie Brooks, Leah Crockett, Chris South, Tim Begley, Joe Salvato, Kevin Music, Billy Poore, Fred Houston, Lee Lawson, Mike Renfro, Jimmy Patel, J.R. Blankenship, Terry Potter, Brandon Brown, Ethan Hadley, Ethan Medley, Ami Patel, Lou Morrison, Vickey Ford, James E. Wyatt, Rob Harrison, Dr. Robert Wood, and Darian Dykes. Other Business 1. Discussion and action regarding purchase of the Village Inn Dr. Robert Wood presented an offer to the City through the City Attorney to purchase the Village Inn in the amount of $450,000. Council member Turner stated he understood Dr. Wood has the property for sale, but asked if the City has any plans for the property. He's concerned about the residents being without homes. He stressed that it is important to contact non-profits agencies to help place the tenants in homes. Council member Shanks stated that the City Council will address the City's homeless issue at its next retreat and agreed that non-profit agencies should be involved to assist with the relocation of the Village Inn residents. Council member Shanks also related that the purchase will require three readings to amend the budget, which should give the public time to express their feelings about the purchase. A motion was made by Council Member Art Gernt, seconded by Council Member Scot Shanks, to accept offer from Dr. Robert Wood for the purchase of the Village Inn property in the amount of $450,000 and to pay $20,000 earnest money, no other contingencies, and closing to be 60 days from the 3rd reading of budget amendment. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Council Member Scot Shanks, Council Member Art Gernt, Mayor R.J. Crawford and Council Member Mike Turner 2. Ordinance amending FY22-23 Budget regarding Village Inn A motion was made by Council Member Scot Shanks, seconded by Council Member Art Gernt, to approve first reading of the budget amendment for the purchase of the Village Inn. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Council Member Scot Shanks, Council Member Art Gernt, Mayor R.J.
