Main St., Economic Development Center, Culpeper, VA 22701 Call to Order Mr. Clements called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Call of Roll Members Present: John Cerio James Clements John Flanagan Janie Schmidt Members Absent: Ian Fitzsimmons Staff Present: Andrew Hopewell, Planning and Community Development Director Kelli Carmichael, Planning and Zoning Assistant Approval of Agenda Motion: By Mr. Flanagan to approve the agenda as presented Seconded: By Ms. Schmidt Vote: Approved 4-0, 1 absent Approval of Minutes Motion: By Ms. Schmidt to approve the minutes as presented Seconded: By Mr. Flanagan Vote: Approved 4-0, 1 absent Comments and Correspondence from Citizens, Visitors and Delegations in the Audience on Items Not Scheduled for Public Hearing. New Business Public Hearing – Text Amendment: Mr. Hopewell presented a Text Amendment to Town Code Chapter 27 to provide a mechanism for consideration of a request for a reasonable accommodation in accordance with provisions of state and federal fair housing laws or the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. § 12131 et seq.), as applicable. Discussion ensued. Follow Up Items None. Planning Director Discussion Ongoing Land Use and Transportation Projects: Mr. Hopewell provided an update on the ongoing land use and transportation project within the Town. Update on Unified Development Ordinance: Mr. Hopewell informed the Commission of Town Council’s vote to adopt the UDO at last week’s meeting. He discussed the next steps for implementing the UDO. Mr. Hopewell identified that parcel ID 50-1D on Zeuswyn Drive had not been rezoned to Commercial (C) as recommended by the Planning Commission as it would have required a new public hearing. He had committed to the property owner that the rezoning request would be brought forward independently in the future. Planning Commissioner Discussion Mr. Flanagan thanked all of those that were involved in the UDO process and looks forward to working on the Comprehensive Plan. Mr. Clements confirmed that, at that time, the only item slated for the follow week’s work session was a comprehensive plan update discussion.
