Transit Manager Report-Central
Ridership had an uptick this month despite the heat and afternoon storms which impacted
the region.
We participated with the County and provided shuttle service for the elderly and disabled
during the National Night out at the Field House.
Staff attended the Community Transportation Association of Virginia which was held in
Roanoke. Training at the event included a review of drug and alcohol procedures,
responsiveness to emergency situations and included the opportunity to network with
other transit leaders and vendors.
We are fully staffed in Culpeper. As such, this has allowed us to create a pattern of
consistency with scheduling for both workdays, routes and hours of service provided by
our drivers.
We continue to run trials for the Stevensburg Hybrid fixed route which is planned to
begin Oct. 2025.
The sun visors for the children who participated in this year’s Touch-A-Trolley were
delivered to Kids Central.
We continue to work with U. Va and the Culpeper Wellness foundation relating to
funding Foothills Express. In the event funding is not secured, the service will need
modification.
