~AD HOC REPORT~ City Acquisition of Property: 233 White Street Wednesday, May 7, 2025 Chairman Britton called the meeting to order at 6:32p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Present was Committee Member William McAllister; Absent was Committee Member Emile Buzaid. From the City were Eric Gottschalk, Outside Counsel; Antonio Iadarola, Director of Public Works & City Engineer; Terry Duffy, Assistant Tax Assessor; and Taylor O’Brien, Chief of Staff, Mayor’s Office. Mr. Gottschalk explained the need to acquire a portion of the travel way, a triangle consisting of 166.4 Square Feet, so that the road improvement project can be completed. He confirmed that a deed, property description, map, and parcel release for the mortgage have been attained and presented. He confirmed the appraisal valued the piece of property at $1,350. Member McAllister explained that he walked the area and noted that the parcel is already roped off. Mr. Iadarola spoke on the urgency of acquiring the piece of property so that the project can be completed on time. Ms. O’Brien confirmed that the Mayor supports the project. A motion made by Member McAllister and seconded by Chair Britton, to recommend to the full City Council approval of the resolution authorizing the acquisition of a portion of 233 White Street. The motion carries unanimously. A motion made by Member McAllister, and seconded by Chair Britton, to adjourn. The motion carries unanimously.
