CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION Meeting MINUTES MAY 28, 2021 10:00 a.m. Via Videoconference (Recorded) Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by Chair Shay Nagarsheth and Commissioner Andrew Wetmore. Also present were Denise Janey, Chief Examiner; Patrick Ridenhour, Police Chief; Stephen Hilderbrand, Police Officer; Virginia Werner, Director of Human Resources; and members of the public Bryan Bishop and Christian Carroccio. Minutes: Review and accept previous meeting’s minutes Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to accept the previous meeting's minutes. Motion carried unanimously. Personnel Status: New Hires Ms. Janey noted new hires as follows: - Robert Muncie, Public Utilities; Wilson Betances, Electrical Inspector; and Christopher Sam, Truck Driver. Status Change: Ms. Janey commented that the Clerk Typist Position in the Tax Assessor's Office has had an upgrade in hours. Promotions: None Retirements: None Resignations: None New Business: Request to Remove Police Officers Applicants from Eligibility List Ms. Janey noted emails went out to approximately 18 individuals informing them that their names would come up for removal from the Entry Level Police Officers Eligibility List and none of the applicants sent a response. Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to remove Michael Taylor, Marie Taylor Prahach, John Moran, Brian Sugrue, Nicholas Pykosz, Gregory Pellicone, Steven Anuszkiewicz, Theodora Dinisoe, Alexis Spiconardi, Chris Corbo, Eleni Hatsis, Kyle MacLean, Derrick Reid, Patrick Melly, Adam Liscinsky, Joshua Kaplan, Luis Perna, Justin Avery, Anthony Turner, and Maxwell Lagasse from the Police Officer Eligibility List. Motion carried unanimously. Request to Certify Eligibility Lists - Deputy Fire Chief Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to certify the Deputy Fire Chief Eligibility List of Jamie Schiller and Robert Forbes. Motion carried unanimously. - Police Captain Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to certify the Police Captain Eligibility List as follows Christian A. Carruchio, Brian J. Bishop, Joseph A, LaRose, Michael R. Sturdevant, Ethan Mable, Mark A. Williams, and Andrew Corrado. Motion carried unanimously. - Police Lieutenant Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to certify the Police Lieutenant Eligibility List as follows: Adam Marcus, Gary Coe, Gary R. Guertin, Matthew Georgoulis, Mark Wochek, and David Pardovich. Motion carried unanimously. - Public Health Inspector Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to certify the following individuals for the Public Health Inspector Eligibility List: Aaron Luske, Alexander Zilbershteyn, Natasha Spencer, Julianna Gardel-Goulart, and Michelle Laguerre. Motion carried unanimously. - Secretary - Engineering Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to certify the following individuals for the Secretary-Engineering Eligibility List: Natalie Garrick, Rita Malvagna, Yesenia Cruz, Stephanie Jean Archer, Melissa Marie Beaver, Melinda Hernandez, Virginia Weisgerber, Lynn M. Motion carried unanimously. - Police Sergeant Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to qualify the following individuals for the Police Sergeant with the person id ending in 219, 839, 832, 622, 982, 525, 194, 154, 401, 409, 243, 346, 863, 771, 201, 030, 222, 136, 259, 195, 698, 121, 653, 304, and 447. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to reject the following individuals for the Police Sergeant for the following reasons: No Police Officer experience listed: 507, 824; Insufficient clarification regarding tenure at the Danbury Police Department: 609; Does not meet minimum requirements of Danbury Police Officer: 592; Blank application: 250; Blank application/no experience or education listed: 051; No work experience listed: 570, 338; No experience as a Danbury Police Officer Listed: 070; and Does not meet minimum work requirements/experience as a Danbury Police Officer: 015. Motion carried unanimously. - Assistant Fire Chief Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to qualify the following individual for the Assistant Fire Chief with the person id ending in 306, 989, and 473. Motion carried unanimously. Adjourn Commissioner Wetmore congratulated Police Chief Ridenhour on his appointment as President of the Connecticut Police Chief's Association.
