CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION Meeting MINUTES July 6, 2021 10:00 a.m. Via Videoconference Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by Chair Shay Nagarsheth, Commissioner Andrew Wetmore. Also present were Denise Janey – Chief Examiner, Fire Chief Thode, Chip Daly, Jeff Tomchik, Dickson Brown. Minutes: Review and accept previous meeting’s minutes Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to accept the previous meeting's minutes. Motion carried unanimously. Personnel Status: New Hires: Ms. Janey noted two new hires: Dilania Kalman, Finance Department and Fire Chief Richard Thode, Fire Department. Status Change: None Promotions: Ms. Janey announced the promotion of Beth Ann Fegley to Secretary Bookkeeper with the Fire Department. Retirements: Ms. Janey noted the following employees are retiring with the Fire Department: Steve Williams and Lori Davis. Furthermore, the following employees are retiring with the Police Department: Jose Agosto, Charles Emicke and James Lally. Resignations: None New Business: Certification of Eligibility Lists: - Assistant Fire Chief  Ms. Janey noted two candidates remain on the Assistant Fire Chief Eligibility List. Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to accept the Assistant Fire Chief Eligibility List. Motion carried unanimously. - Lead Pipe Installer Ms. Janey noted two candidates remain on the Lead Pipe Installer Eligibility List. Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to accept the Lead Pipe Installer Eligibility List. Motion carried unanimously. - Maintenance Mechanic III Ms. Janey noted two candidates remain on the Maintenance Mechanic III Eligibility List. Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to accept the Maintenance Mechanic III Eligibility List. Motion carried unanimously. Qualification of Applicants: - Fire Captain Ms. Janey noted resumes are missing for person id ending in 474, 834 and 699. Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to remove the following individuals for the Fire Captain with the person id ending in 474, 834 and 699. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to qualify the following individuals for the Fire Captain with the person id ending in 422, 749, 985, 295, 90, 806, 068, 510, 198, 765, 031 and 745. Motion carried unanimously. - Fire Lieutenant Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to remove the following individuals for the Fire Lieutenant with the person id ending in 149 and 666. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to qualify the following individuals for the Fire Lieutenant with the person id ending in 422, 749, 803, 658, 401, 449, 593, 209, 583, 655, 792, 292, 606, 794, 582, 412, 039, 035, 730, 656, 336 and 675. Motion carried unanimously.  Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to deny the following individuals for the Fire Lieutenant with the person id ending in 666 and 149. Person id ending in 666 was rejected due to missing work experience and 149 was rejected due to missing certifications. Motion carried unanimously.
