Via Videoconference (ZOOM) Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by Chair Susan Ward; also present were Commissioner Rick Rogers, Nelly Espinal, Chief Examiner, Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour, Christina Norman, HR Generalist, Deputy Police Chief Michael Sturdevant, Assistant Corporation Counsel Dianne Rosemark, Aleyda Martinez, HR Assistant, Acting Health Director Fernanda Carvalho, Ginny Werner, Director of Human Resources, and member(s) of the public Douglas Barrientos- Vasquez, Silvia Chavez, Franklin Dube, Geoffrey Rice, John Samaniego, Randy Polanco, Tiffany Robertson, and Ileana Hernandez. Minutes: Meeting June 14th, 2023 Motion made by Commissioner Rogers and seconded by Chair Ward, to accept the meeting minutes dated Wednesday, June 28th, 2023 Motion carried unanimously. Personnel Status: New Hires Jason Friedman – Tree Climber / Operator Jessica Stahl – Clerk Typist II Michael Tine – Police Officer Promotions Fire Lieutenants promoted January 4th, 2023 Gabriel Rivera, Kenneth Stillson III & Adam Horosky Kim Pisciotta- Assistant Tax Collector New Business: Appeals: Payroll Supervisor Applicants Assistant Corporation Counsel Dianne Rosemark explained the option of going into executive session, in which the recording is stopped and discussion with the commission not be made public or stay in open session and the discussion be made public. Chair Susan Ward offered the candidates appealing their application for the position of Payroll Supervisor the opportunity to enter into executive session, should they wish to; applicant 54093378 choose to go into executive session. Motion carried unanimously. Motion made by Chair Ward and seconded by Commissioner Rogers to add to the agenda the request for additional interviews for Entry Level Firefighter. Motion carried unanimously. A request was made to the Commission to allow a blanket of additional interviews for the position of Entry Level Firefighters. The Commissioners allowed for up to an additional 25 candidates to be interviewed during the hiring and interview process. Motion made by Commissioner Rogers and seconded by Chair Ward, to allow for the additional interviews (up to 25 additional) for the Entry Level Firefighter position/hiring process.
