CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES May 22, 2024 10:00 A.M. Via Videoconference (ZOOM) Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by Chair Susan Ward; also present were Commissioner Rick Rogers, Chief Examiner Nelly Espinal, HR Generalist Christina Norman, Human Resources Director Ginny Werner, Deputy Police Chief Michael Sturdevant, IT Manager, Frank Gentile, Assistant Corporation Counsel Dianne Rosemark, HR Assistant Aleyda Martinez, and members of the public Al Robinson, Robert Rzasa and William Daly. Minutes: Meeting May 8, 2024 Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to accept the meeting minutes dated May 8th, 2024. Motion carried unanimously. Personnel Status: John Dillon-Tree Worker Bucket Operator and Ryan Boggan-Registered Health Environmental Specialist New Business: Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to move the agenda item of “Removal of Candidates from Eligibility Lists” to the top of new business. Motion carried unanimously. Removal of Candidate from Eligibility List- Foreman II Chair Ward offered the candidate the option to go into executive session should the applicant not want the discussion regarding the status of his application to be discussed in an open session and on the record. The applicant elected to go into executive session Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to go into executive session. Recording paused. Motion carried unanimously. Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to return from executive session and start recording again. Motion carried unanimously. Removal of Candidate from Eligibility List-Clerk Typist II Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to remove candidate #52599676 Lousie Michaels from the Clerk Typist II Eligibility list promulgated April 19th, 2023, for failure of a candidate to accept an appointment/interviews when offered. Motion carried unanimously. Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to remove candidates #47990677 Laura Taylor and #53285972 Lauren Kochano from the Clerk Typist II Eligibility list promulgated April 19th, 2023, for having been considered through an interview three times and not been appointed by the Mayor. Motion carried unanimously. Removal of Candidate from Eligibility List- Mechanic Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to remove candidate #53803514 Romes Nagy from the Mechanic Eligibility list promulgated April 10th, 2024 as the applicant failed the interview. Motion carried unanimously. Request to hold New Exam- Foreman II Motion made by Commissioner Rogers and seconded by Chair Ward to cancel the completed Foreman II Examination and Eligibility list, promulgated April 24th, 2024 and conduct a new exam to generate a new eligibility list. Motion carried unanimously.
