CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES January 8, 2025 3:00 P.M. Via Videoconference (ZOOM) Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by Chair Susan Ward; also present were Commissioner Rick Rogers, Chief Examiner Nelly Espinal, Fire Chief Richard Thode, HR Generalist Christina Norman, HR Assistant Aleyda Martinez, Library Director Katie Pearson, and Assistant City Engineer Dan Petrovich. Minutes: Meeting December 18th, 2024 Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to accept the meeting minutes from December 18th, 2024. Motion carried unanimously. Motion carried unanimously. Extend Eligibility List- Fire Captain Motion made by Commissioner Rogers and seconded by Chair Ward to extend the Fire Captain eligibility list with an expiration date of January 18th, 2026. Motion carried unanimously. Extend Eligibility List- Fire Lieutenant Motion made by Commissioner Rogers and seconded by Chair Ward to extend the Fire Lieutenant eligibility list with an expiration date of January 18th, 2026. Motion carried unanimously. Qualifications of Applications: Assistant Tax Collector Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to accept applicant #49629907 as this applicant meets the requirements of the position and that the Department Head interview be in lieu of the oral exam. Motion carried unanimously. Motion carried unanimously. Removal- Entry Level Police Officer Candidates from Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to remove the following candidates from the Entry Level Police Officer Eligibility List promulgated on July 3rd, 2024, for lack of response to schedule an interview; Candidate #761710 Michael Galiano, Candidate #759866 Gianni Frango, Candidate #755998 Douglas Taylor and Candidate #755103 Joseph Coletti. Also, to be removed; Candidate # 762427 Jordan Carbone as he has requested to be removed from consideration. Motion carried unanimously.
