CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES January 23, 2025 2:00 P.M. Via Videoconference (ZOOM) Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by Chair Susan Ward; also present were Commissioner Rick Rogers, Chief Examiner Nelly Espinal, HR Generalist Christina Norman, Jim Parra, Entry Level Police applicant, Library Director Katie Pearson, and Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour. Minutes: Meeting January 8th, 2025 Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to accept the meeting minutes from January 8th, 2025. Motion carried unanimously. Personnel Status: New Hires: Promotions: Susan Ciaburri – Assistant Tax Collector Resignations/ Retirements/ Terminations: New Business: Certification of Housing Inspector Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Rogers and seconded by Chair Ward to certify the Housing Inspector eligibility list with an expiration date of January 23, 2026. Motion carried unanimously. Certification of Public Health Inspector Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Rogers and seconded by Chair Ward to certify the Public Health Inspector eligibility list with an expiration date of January 23, 2026. Motion carried unanimously. Certification of Laborer II-Mason Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Rogers and seconded by Chair Ward to certify the Laborer II-Mason eligibility list with an expiration date of January 23, 2026. Motion carried unanimously. Certification of Computer Technician Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Rogers and seconded by Chair Ward to certify the Computer Technician eligibility list with an expiration date of January 23, 2026. Motion carried unanimously. Removal- Entry Level Police Officer Candidates from Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to remove candidate #763523, Travis O’Neill from the Entry Level Police Officer eligibility list, as he is deemed unsuccessful. Motion carried unanimously. Chair Ward offered the candidate the option to go into executive session should the candidate not want the discussion regarding the status of his application to be discussed in an open session and on the record. The candidate elected to go into executive session. Motion made by Commission Rogers, and seconded by Chair Ward to go into executive session. Motion carried unanimously. Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to remove candidate #755063 Jim Parra from the Entry Level Police Officer eligibility list, as he was deemed unsuccessful. Motion carried unanimously.
