Arts Association
Jill Kuhn asked about the boiler update in the Richter House. Mr. Siecienski
said that he will give an update on it later in the meeting. The Berkshire Band was
cancelled due to rain. The 50th Anniversary event was great and there was good
public feedback received.
Musicals at Richter
Bobby Bria was elected as Executive Director for his 8th year at MAR. They
have started looking at the 2023 season. Mary Nimer is interested in helping with
fundraising.
MPC-Richter House
The 50th Anniversary celebration of Richter Park was very successful!
FORe
There was a meeting last week and it was determined that there will not be a
fundraising breakfast in the fall. Also, the new sign at Richter Park is beautiful.
Business Manager’s Report
This is a busy month for outings. Review employee health insurance updates.
Head Golf Professional
August was an outstanding month for rounds, with just under 7100. We are just
2000 rounds behind 2021, but have made $35k more in revenue.
Grounds and Greens
We have only had 6” of rain since the last RPA meeting, and the reservoir is
still low. We are down around 12” of rain from normal. Also, we are getting ready for
leaf season.
Golfweek ranked Richter Park #9 in Connecticut golf courses for 2022.
Financial report
We are in a healthy position compared to last year. Mr. Mead asked about
making improvements in the Pro Shop, which will be directed to the Facilities
Committee. Mr. Mead made a motion to place the financial report on file. Mr.
Eberhard seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
Finance Committee Report
Mr. Diggs stated that we will continue with Oxford for employee health
insurance for the 2022-23 renewal.
Old business
Mr. Siecienski and Mr. Radachowsky met with John Kleinhans with the City
last week. The Richter House steam boiler was discussed. The cost will be $70K to
replace it, and the City will not be able to assist with a replacement until at least the
end of 2022. Also, the slate on the Richter House walkway needs to be re-
purposed. The Richter House septic system and parking was also discussed.
The Employee Contract Committee has recommended that the Golf
Professional goes back to being the Director of Golf and Operations. Mr. Mead made
a motion to accept the Committee’s recommendation to change Mr. Pinto’s title to
Director of Golf and Operations effective January 1, 2023. Mr. Priola seconded. Mr.
Radachowsky opposed. Motion passed unanimously.
New business
None.
Chairman’s Comments/Report
The 50th Anniversary event was good! It is sad that the FORe fundraising
breakfast isn’t happening. Mr. Radachowsky will speak with the former RPA member
about the issue previously discussed.
Executive Session
None.
Mr. Mead made a motion to adjourn at 7:20 pm. Mr. Priola seconded. Motion
passed unanimously.
