9/11/2023 Minutes
Attendance: Angie Volkman (Town Clerk), Jana Nolden (Town Treasurer), Residents: Clarence Dresen, Tim &
Nicolle Herbsleb, Nancy & Paul Roth, Barb Taylor, Kendra Tutsch, and Jennifer Persike.
1. Call meeting to order. Meeting was called to order at 6:30pm by Dave Koenig, Town of Dane Chair.
2. Proof of posting. Angie Volkman confirmed that the agenda was posted on town website, Town of Dane hall door, Post Office and
Dane Lumber.
3. Roll call. Present: Dave Koenig, George Dorn, and Rich Haag.
4. Additions or Corrections/Approval of Agenda. Dave Koenig confirmed with the Board no additions or corrections to the
agenda.
5. Approve minutes from the last regular board meeting held on 8/7/2023. Motion by Dorn, second by Haag to approve
minutes from the last regular board meeting held on 8/7/2023. Motion carried unanimously.
6. Approve minutes from the Special board meeting held on 8/14/2023. Motion by Dorn, second by Haag to approve
minutes from the Special board meeting held on 8/14/2023 with the changes. Motion carried unanimously,
7. TOWN TREASURER REPORT. Motion by Dorn, second by Haag to approve the town treasurer report as read and
presented. Motion carried unanimously.
9. PUBLIC WORKS REPORT.
1. John Deere Loader Repairs. Koenig reported to the board that the John Deere Loader did not end up needing the
brakes fixed. Motion by Haag, second by Dorn to approve the Mid-State invoice for the repairs of $9284.11.
Motion carried unanimously.
10. RECYCLING COMMITTEE REPORT. Haag reported that the transfer site is going well and still getting positive
feedback regarding being open on Wednesday nights from 5-6:30pm.
11. FIRE DISTRICT REPORT. Dorn reported that besides paying the bills, not much to bring back to the boar from the last
fire district meeting.
12. EMS REPORT. Haag reported that Lodi did not have a meeting. For Waunakee, they met on 8/11/2023 and approved
minutes and expenditure statement and went through Chief report. Waunakee should also be getting a new ambulance in 2025
and also noted that 2 ambulances have Narcan. Haag mentioned that the impact fees are going from $33 in 2023 to $45 in 2024
and closing in on contract for paramedics.
13. OLD BUSINESS (The following items will be discussed and may have action taken on them.) NONE
14. NEW BUSINESS (The following items will be discussed and may have action taken on them.)
1. Clarence Dresen ditch. Clarence Dresen spoke to the board and discussed why he feels the Town should have to
fix/pay for the ditch. Koenig told Dresen that it is not the responsibility of the Town but would look into estimates.
2. Resolution to borrow $400,000.00 for culvert replacements on Lodi-Springfield and Ripp Drive from DMB bank.
Motion by Dorn, second by Haag to borrow $400,00.00 for culvert replacements. Motion carried unanimously.
3. Resolution to approve Town Clerk Angie Volkman Town Treasurer Jana Nolden, and Town Chair Dave Koenig to be
authorized to use Town of Dane Credit Card for town purchases. Motion by Haag, second by Dorn to approve
Town Clerk Angie Volkman Town Treasurer Jana Nolden, and Town Chair Dave Koenig to be authorized to
use Town of Dane Credit Card for town purchases. Motion carried with 2 votes by Dorn and Haag and Koenig
obtained.
4. Set budget workshop date. 10/2/2023 immediately after regular board meeting.
5. Set next meeting date: 10/2/2023. Confirmed.
15. CORRESPONDENCE. Angie Volkman passed to the board a thank you card from Scott’s Construction of which they
were thanking the Town for their business.
16. FINANCE. Bills to be paid. Motion by Haag, second by Dorn to approve invoices. Motion carried unanimously,
17. ADJOURNMENT. Motion by Koenig, second by Dorn to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
