Attendance: Kendra Tutsch & Nancy & Paul Roth
1. Call meeting to order. The regular Town of Dane Board Meeting was called to order at 6:30pm
by Dave Koenig, Town of Dane Chair.
2. Agenda Confirmation. Agenda ok’d; no changes made.
3. Minutes from previous meeting October 2, 2023. Motion by George Dorn, second by Rich
Haag to approve the minutes from the previous meeting held on 10/2/2023. Motion carried
unanimously.
4. Minutes from Budget Meeting October 2, 2023. Motion by Rich Haag, second by George Dorn
to approve the minutes from the Budget Meeting held on 10/2/2023. Motion carried
unanimously.
5. Minutes from Special Meeting October 27, 2023. Motion by George Dorn, second by Rich Haag
to approve the minutes from the Special Meeting held on 10/27/2023. Motion carried
unanimously.
6. TOWN TREASURER REPORT. Motion by George Dorn, second by Rich Haag to approve the
Town Treasurer report as read and presented. Motion carried unanimously.
7. RECYCLING COMMITTEE REPORT. Rich Haag reported to the Board that the Transfer Site is
going well except for a few mattresses and miscellaneous items not accepted at the Site.
8. FIRE DISTRICT REPORT. George Dorn reported to the Board that at the last Fire District meeting bills
were paid, and still working on the details with the new radios.
9. EMS REPORT. Rich Haag reported to the Board that Waunakee EMS met on 10/12 and minutes
were approved along with the expenditure report. Waunakee also discussed bringing AD units
into the park and it’s currently in the experimental phase. Rich reported that Lodi EMS met on
10/19 at 7pm, which is not the normal scheduled time and was unable to attend but did say that
there is no issues and or concerns with the contract and no price change for the Town of Dane.
10. PUBLIC WORKS REPORT.
a. New tires for truck. Dave Koenig reported to the Board that the Western Star is in new
of new tires with better grips. Dave Koenig talked to Steve Kelley at TG Tire and tires
should be replaced in the Spring but to replace the rims now. Dodge Ram also needs
front tires and 2 interior tires. Motion by Rich Haag, second by Dave Koenig to
purchase new rims and get pricing on tires that we need. Motion carried
unanimously.
b. Culverts Update. Dave Koenig reported to the Board that the Culverts are in, and the
Town hasn’t seen the invoices as the billing is with Mid-States.
11. OLD BUSINESS:
a. Discussion about ATV routes on Town Roads-No Action. Dane County had a meeting and
Dave asked for the discussion to be sent to him to give to the Board. Some Towns and
Villages are not allowed but Dane County will have an ordinance and no Town and or Village
can make their ordinance “tougher” than the Counties.
12. NEW BUSINESS:
a. Budget Review for 2024. Motion to refer to Special Meeting on December 4, 2023, at
6:30pm. Angie Volkman is to publish and post the Town of Dane Budget for 2024.
b. WRS (Wisconsin Retirement System) UPDATE. Angie Volkman reported to the Board that
we need to get all paperwork done and in by 11/15 to be eligible for 1/1/24.
c. Set next meeting date: December 4, 2023, after Special Meeting for Budget Hearing. Next
Town of Dane regular board meeting will be held on 12/4/2023 immediately after the
Special Board meeting on 12/4/23 at 6:30pm.
13. CORRESPONDENCE. Angie passed around a Thank You card that the Town of Dane received
from the library thanking the Town for the donation.
14. FINANCE. Bills to be paid. Motion by Rich Haag, second by George Dorn to pay the bills.
Motion carried unanimously.
15. Roll Call to go into Closed Session. Dave Koenig-yup, George Dorn-here, and Rich Haag-here.
a. Convene to Closed Session pursuant to WI State Statutes 19.85 (1) (c) Considering employment,
promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which
the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility regarding Town of Dane
Personnel.
16. Motion to close Closed Session Meeting-Roll Call. Motion by Dave Koenig, second by Rich Haag
to come out of closed session. Motion carried unanimously.
17. Reconvene to Open Session and act if necessary. Motion by Rich Haag, second by George Dorn
to give Craig a raise to $27/hr. effective 12/1/2023 with 3 weeks’ vacation and 5 sick days along with
approving WRS for eligible employees and that overtime will be paid out on the following check.
Motion carried unanimously.
18. ADJOURNMENT. Motion by George Dorn, second by Rich Haag to adjourn.
