CITY OF DARLINGTON COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
OCTOBER 15, 2024
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike McDermott at 7:00 PM. The Pledge of Allegiance
was then recited. Present at roll call were: Kerry Black, Joe Boll, Cindy Corley, Dave Roelli, John Sonsalla
and Steve Pickett. Excused absence: None. Also present were: Jeff McCarthy, Attorney Aaron Stauffacher,
and Kim Winslow.
Motion by Pickett, second by Sonsalla, the meeting notice and agenda were properly posted. Motion
carried.
Motion by Pickett, second by Boll, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Motion carried.
Under reports, comments, suggestions, and recommendations of citizens present – nothing to report.
Under unfinished of deferred business from previous Council meetings – nothing to report.
Under new business, discussion was held regarding recommendation from the Water & Sewer
Committee for approval of the proposed 2025 Water Department budget. Motion by Pickett, second by Roelli
to approve the proposed 2025 Water Department budget as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
Discussion was then held regarding recommendation from the Water & Sewer Committee for approval
of the proposed 2025 Sewer Department budget. Motion by Roelli, second by Boll to approve the amended
2025 Sewer Department budget as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
Under reports of committees, the November Common Council meeting will take place on Monday,
November 4, 2024, due to the General Election taking place on the first Tuesday of the month.
Alderperson Boll reported on behalf of the Park & Recreation Committee – representatives from
Wisconsin DNR were here on October 10th for a site visit. The City Ball Field project is progressing. The
upper shelter house has been painted, with the lower shelter house bathroom painting scheduled for
completion in the coming weeks. The proposed 2025 Wellness Center Budget was approved with some
minor changes. And a proposed 2025 Park & Recreation budget was approved.
The Finance & Personnel Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 6 pm
to review 2025 department budgets.
There being no further business for this meeting, motion by Black, second by Corley, to adjourn the
meeting at 7:07pm. Motion carried.

1. Call to order by presiding officer.
2. Pledge of Allegiance.
3. Roll call.
4. Motion that the meeting notice and agenda were properly posted.
5. Approve the minutes of the previous meeting, rectifying mistakes if any exist. (Copy
enclosed)
6. Reports, comments, suggestions, and recommendations of citizens present.(3-minute limit)
7. Unfinished or deferred business from previous Council meetings.
8. New business. Including but not limited to the introduction of Ordinances and
Resolutions.
(a) Discussion and action concerning the following recommendations from the Water and
Sewer Committee:
1. Approve the 2025 Water Department budget.
2. Approve the 2025 Sewer Department budget.
9. Reports of Committees.
(a) Schedule the next Council Meeting for Monday, November 4, 2024, due to the General
Election on the first Tuesday of the month.
(b) Park and Recreation Committee meeting held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
(c) Finance and Personnel Committee meeting scheduled for Tuesday, October 22, 2024,
at 6:00 PM to review 2025 department budgets.
10. Adjourn the meeting.
