CITY OF DARLINGTON COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
JANUARY 7, 2025
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike McDermott at 7:00 PM. The Pledge of
Allegiance was then recited. Present at roll call were: Kerry Black, Joe Boll, Cindy Corley, Dave
Roelli, John Sonsalla and Steve Pickett. Absent: None. Also present was: Kim Winslow
Motion by Roelli, seconded by Pickett, the meeting notice and agenda were properly
posted. Motion carried.
Motion by Pickett, seconded by Sonsalla, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting.
Motion carried.
Under reports, comments, suggestions and recommendations of citizens present, John
Sonsalla asked for an update on the Glenn Kendall property.
Under unfinished or deferred business from previous Council meetings, there was nothing
to report.
Under new business, discussion was held concerning accepting the engagement letters
from Johnson Block and Co. to perform the 2024 City of Darlington Audit. After discussion and
consideration, motion by Pickett, seconded by Boll, to accept the engagement letters from Johnson
Block and Co. to perform the 2024 City of Darlington Audit. Motion carried.
A report was given regarding nomination papers filed for municipal offices for the 2025
Spring Election.
Discussion was held regarding an original Class “B” Retailers Combination alcohol
beverage license application from Trailbirds LLC, d/b/a Trailbirds, Ilse Mendez, Agent, 301 Main
Street, Darlington, WI. After review and consideration, motion by Roelli, seconded by Sonsalla,
to approve the original Class “B” Retailers Combination alcohol beverage license application from
Trailbirds LLC, d/b/a Trailbirds, Ilse Mendez, Agent, 301 Main Street, Darlington, WI. Motion
carried.
Under reports of committees: Mike McDermott gave a brief report from the Fire Board
meeting that was held on January 2, 2025. Joe Boll gave a brief report on behalf of the Park &
Recreation Committee regarding the Ball Park Renovation project. Mike McDermott informed the
members about an Ehlers Public Finance Seminar scheduled for February 13-14, 2025 in
Wisconsin Dells.
There being no further business for this meeting, motion by Roelli, seconded by Black, to
adjourn the meeting at 7:15pm. Motion carried.

8. New business. Including but not limited to the introduction of Ordinances and
Resolutions.
(a) Discussion and action concerning accepting the engagement letters from Johnson
Block and Co. to perform the 2024 City of Darlington Audit.
