CITY OF DARLINGTON COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS FEBRUARY 4, 2025 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike McDermott at 7:05 PM. The Pledge of Allegiance was then recited. Present at roll call were: Cindy Corley, Dave Roelli, John Sonsalla, Steve Pickett, and Kerry Black. Absent: Joe Boll. Also present were Jeff McCarthy and Amy Johnson. Motion by Pickett, seconded by Corley, the meeting notice and agenda were properly posted. Motion carried. Motion by Pickett, seconded by Corley, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Motion carried. Under reports, comments, suggestions, and recommendations of citizens present, Jeff McCarthy commended the DPW crew for their hard work with the water main breaks at the end of January, and for their dedication to the City. The Mayor shared several updates with the Council including an update on the building located next to the trail that is failing, an update on the property located at 128 Main Street, the Mayor and Jeff McCarthy will be working with Delta 3 Engineering to start marking the proposed location where Well #4 could be placed, and an update on Well #1. Under new business, discussion was held concerning the following recommendations from the Park & Recreation Committee. • 2025 Park and Recreation Program and Fees. Motion by Corley, seconded by Sonsalla, to accept the Committee’s recommendation and approve the 2025 Park and Recreation Program and Fees. Motion carried. • 2025 Park and Recreation summer employment wages. The Committee is recommending following the 4% wage increase approved by Mayor McDermott. After discussion and consideration, motion by Roelli, seconded by Black, to accept the Committee’s recommendation and approve the 2025 Park and Recreation summer employment wages as recommended by the Committee. Motion carried. Motion by Pickett, seconded by Sonsalla to approve payment of the following January 2025 vouchers City ACH Vouchers #204 thru #219 in the amount of $130,564.32; City vouchers #46312 thru #446367 in the amount of $1,059,518.89; Direct Deposit Payroll vouchers #14893 thru #14991 in the amount of $104,579.10; Library ACH voucher #9 in the amount of $2,561.02; Library vouchers #6351 thru #6353 in the amount of $1,657.53; Sewer Dept. ACH voucher #18 in the amount of $1,268.51; Sewer Dept. vouchers #8155 thru #8166 in the amount of $11,850.22; Water Dept. ACH voucher #35 in the amount of $1,268.49; Water Dept. vouchers #7533 thru #7561 in the amount of $11,046.42. Under reports of committees: Mike McDermott shared the Lafayette County EMS Advisory Committee will be meeting on February 10, 2025. Alderperson Corley reported on the Library Board meeting held on January 27, 2025. Alderperson Roelli reported on the Park & Recreation Committee meeting held on January 29, 2025.
