Board of Director Meeting August 2024
Meeting Held: August 26th, 2024, 6:30PM
1. Call to Order: By President Alex Santacruz at 6:29, all present
2. Roll Call: Candi Fitzsimons, Alex Santacruz, Patti Taylor, Cindy Corley, Shawn
O’Brien, Matt Walter, Sonja Wiegel, and Carly Winslow
3. Motion Meeting notice and agenda were properly posted
a. 1st Winslow, 2nd O’brien. Motion Carried.
4. Approval of minute from previous meeting
a. 1st Corley, 2nd Walter. Motion Carried.
5. Comments and suggestions from citizens or other parties
a. None Present
6. Unfinished business
a. Report on Past Library Events
i. Olympic days well attended by kids and families
ii. Tot time started up this month-sensory bins are a big hit
iii. Shullsburg hosted Lafayette County Directors Meeting
iv.
Friday, August 30- quarterly southwest directors meeting
v. Back to school bash put on by Lafayette County Social Services well
attended everyone received a book and donated water.
b. Community meeting for strategic planning
i. Community Meeting
1. Letters sent out to 8 men and 8 women. Have heard back from
5 thus far.
2. Jen from the SW system will facilitate.
ii. Community Servey
1. WILS has a program to help with surveys and help break down
the data into useful information. Likely to use that, cost is
worth what we get results wise.
7. New business
a. Southwest Wisconsin Library Agreement
i. Cost is up from last year ($12,540 from $9821)
ii. Got a rundown of what is included with this agreemend
iii. Approval given to approve the renewal of agreement
1. 1st Walter, 2nd Winslow. Motion Carried
b. Approval of 2025 Budget
i. Tabled for now pending more updates from city/county
ii. Notice of upcoming Events:

1. Call to order by presiding officer.
2. Roll call.
3. Motion the meeting notice and agenda were properly posted.
4. Approve minutes taken at any preceding meeting of the said library board, rectifying mistakes
if any exist.
5. Comments and suggestions from citizens or other interested parties present.
6. Unfinished business of the board from the previous meeting.
(a) Report on past library events.
(b) Discussion on the library’s Strategic Plan and next steps to update the Plan.
1. Community meeting.
2. Community survey.
7. New business or matters to be taken up by the board.
(a) Approval of Southwest Wisconsin Library System Agreement.
(b) Approval of 2025 budget.
(c) Notice of upcoming events.
(d) Approve payment of the following June 2024 vouchers: Librarian account vouchers
#4567 through #4577 in the amount of $4,080.47.
8. Set the next meeting date and adjourn the meeting.
