Meeting minutes from the Johnson Public Library on April 28, 2025 -Call to order by Alex Santacruz at 6:32pm -Roll Call: Sonja Wiegel, Matt Walter, Cindy Corley, Shawn O’Brien, Patti Taylor, Alex Santacruz, Candi Fitzsimons -Cindy moved that the meeting was properly posted, Matt second, approved -Cindy moved to accept the minutes of the previous meeting, Patti second, approved -Old Business 1. Past library events: Irish Miners, Tailspin author, Cricut training, IT visit, donations from New Glarus State Bank & Kathryn Geissbuhler family 2. Lawrence Hardyman memorial: comfy reading chair has been purchased; carved wooden owl has been ordered -New Business 1. City’s request for account access: After discussion of Lib. System Director’s advice & City Attorney advice, the board decided to keep account passwords, etc. in folder at library. Director & Janet Trout have access. Motion by Patti, second Shawn, approved 2. Part-time aide for Summer Reading Program: Board approved hiring of helper for approximately 20 hours total over summer at rate of $14/hour. Motion by Matt, 2 nd Shawn, approved 3. Upcoming library events: Bob Wiegel from UW-Extension will do financial literacy story time after school; Candi will start beginner Mahjong on Thursdays at 2pm; Bess the Book Bus will come again May 10 from 2-4pm, every child gets 2 free books, sponsored by Saunders Oil/Mini Mart; Candi will host Laf. Co. Library Directors meeting on May 14; Janet & Candi will go to DEMS to present a preview of the Summer Reading Program to 3 rd grade & younger; Fairy Garden program collaboration with UW-Extension 4H 4.
