PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES FEBRUARY 26, 2025 The meeting was called to order by Joe Boll at 6:30 p.m. Present at roll call: Scott Heinberg, Doug Lindstrom, Jill Ringen, Ken Staver, Carly Winslow, Joe Boll and Rayna O’Brien. Excused Absence: None Also present: Wade Berget, Dave Roelli, John Sonsalla and Kim Winslow Motion by Staver, seconded by Winslow, the meeting notice and agenda were properly posted. Voice vote. Motion carried. Motion by Ringen, seconded by Lindstrom, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried. Reports, comments, suggestions, and recommendations from citizens present: Brunkow Construction was wondering what color metal roofing the City would like put on the Lower Shelter House and Lower Bathroom buildings. Wade Berget will contact Brunkow Construction and coordinate that with them. Under unfinished or deferred business from the previous commission meeting: Joe Boll updated the committee City Ball Field renovation project. Donations continue to come in. Midwest Athletic is scheduled to begin work on the infield in early May. Wade Berget will bring bids for the new dugout benches and backstop padding to the March meeting. Under new business or matters to be taken up by the commission: Discussion only was held regarding replacement of the Parks Department utility vehicle. The Parks Department is looking to replace the former John Deere Gator with a used utility vehicle using the insurance funds received. Discussion only was held regarding Park & Recreation Programs. There was discussion about starting a youth soccer program in Spring of 2026. Motion by Ringen, seconded by Staver, to adjourn the meeting at 7:10pm. Voice vote. Motion carried.
