PARK AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES MAY 28, 2025 The meeting was called to order by Joe Boll at 6:30 p.m. Present at roll call: Jill Ringen, Ken Staver, Carly Winslow, Joe Boll, Rayna O’Brien, Scott Heinberg and Doug Lindstrom. Excused Absence: none Also present: Wade Berget, Cindy Corley, Dave Roelli, John Sonsalla and Kim Winslow. Motion by Ringen, seconded by Staver, the meeting notice and agenda were properly posted. Voice vote. Motion carried. Motion by Winslow, seconded by O’Brien, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried. Reports, comments, suggestions, and recommendations from citizens present: Balance Sheet, Revenue, and Expenditure Financial statements thru April 30, 2025 were included in the agenda packet. Wade gave a report on the pool prep and proposed opening date of the swimming pool for this year. Under unfinished or deferred business from the previous committee meeting: Discussion only was held regarding the City Ball Field Renovation project. The infield replacement and the blacktop paving around the outside were completed about a week ago. The fencing was completed today. Wade installed the new dugout benches, and the backstop padding is here, it just needs to be installed. The last item to complete the project is the arrival and installation of the dugout sunblock netting. Joe Boll advised the committee he is looking to have a donation board created to hang on the press box showing the list of people, businesses and organizations who donated towards the project. Discussion only was held regarding the Swimming Pool Park court resurfacing project. The resurfacing & painting, new lines and new nets were completed this past weekend. It is now open for use. Discussion only was held regarding the Lower Shelter House & Bathroom project. New roofs have been installed on the bathrooms and shelter house. The bathrooms were repainted inside and out. And the support beams were replaced on the shelter house. Everything is completed, and the facilities are ready for use. Under new business or matters to be taken up by the committee: Discussion only was held regarding the hiring process of the new Wellness Center Director.
