POLICE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES MARCH 17, 2026 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike McDermott at 6:30 PM. Present at roll call were: Mayor Mike McDermott, Dave Roelli, Joe Boll, Cindy Corley, Steve Pickett, and Kerry Black. Absent: John Sonsalla. Also present were: Szvon Conway, Dave Lindecker, and Amy Johnson. Motion by Roelli, seconded by Pickett, that the meeting notice and agenda were properly posted. Motion carried. Motion by Pickett, seconded by Black, to approve the minutes of previous meetings. Motion carried. Under new business, Police Chief Szvon Conway presented the 2025 Police Department Annual Report. Copies of the 2025 total incident report, by nature of incident, were distributed to those present at this meeting. The presentation provided information on the following: Incidents Reported, Parking Enforcement, and Traffic Citations and Warnings. Conway updated the Committee on equipment upgrades made in 2025 and through 2026, as well as the training officers have completed. Chief Conway informed the committee that a letter had been mailed in February to the Darlington Community School District Superintendent and School Board Members to initiate a conversation about creating a School Resource Office Partnership. To date, the Police Department has not received any additional correspondence or updates from the school district concerning the partnership.
