CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 6:03 p.m. 2. Williams Absent: 1 - Member Maribel Montanez 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES & AGENDA: A. Meeting minutes for July 18, 2017. Motion by member Jodi Pena-Castaldi, seconded by member Mike Williams to approve the minutes for July, 21, 2017. PRESENTATIONS/AWARDS/REPORTS: City of Deltona Page 1 Printed on 12/21/2017 Affordable Housing Advisory Minutes November 21, 2017 Committee 5. PUBLIC FORUM: 6. OLD BUSINESS: A. Update on AHAC member fund raising efforts for the Neighborhood Center homeless shelter initiative. Member Williams asked Mr. Paradise to give a recount of the funding and the efforts associated with the Neighborhood Center homeless shelter initiative and the City of Deltona for the new members. Mr. Paradise explained the need for private sector donors and any outreach the AHAC members could provide towards reaching the private sector for donations would help. There was discussion between members on funding efforts and related ideas. 7. NEW BUSINESS: A. Review and discussion regarding the Housing Element Comprehensive Plan revisions. Mr. Paradise reviewed proposed changes to the Housing Element of the Comprehensive Plan with the AHAC. The Housing Element was sent to the AHAC in an underline strike through format for review and comments. Chairmen Putkowski and Member Pena-Castaldi did provide comments and some changes to the Housing Element. B. Update on Hurricane Irma SHIP assistance. Ms. Briggs gave details on the SHIP Hurricane Disaster Recovery Program for Hurricane Irma. 8. STAFF COMMENTS: Mr. Paradise thanked the members for their attendance and reminded them all to respond to emails as soon as possible. He relayed to the AHAC members that there is consideration for moving the AHAC meetings to normal business hours. Ms. Briggs used her comment time to briefly go over SHIP reports, program audits, consolidated plan and the help the Community Life Center is providing for the Hurricane Maria evacuees. 9. BOARD/COMMITTEE MEMBERS COMMENTS: Chairman Putkowski asked if we could move the meetings upstairs to the second floor conference room. Staff responded that we would look into it for him. City of Deltona Page 2 Printed on 12/21/2017 Affordable Housing Advisory Minutes November 21, 2017 Committee Member Ulicny-Hoback stated it was a great meeting and is very happy with the progress the AHAC is making. She is looking forward to what the new year brings. Member Diaz was very pleased with her first meeting. Member Williams informed members and staff of the dates and ticket information of several upcoming events. 10.
