A. Discussion of the City of Deltona’s “5-year Strategic Development Plan with
Annual Graded Updates”. Jerry Mayes, Economic Development Manager,
(386) 878-8619.
Strategic Goals: Economic Development
Background: The City of Deltona is currently reviewing an economic development
plan with intentions of acceptance. The primary foundation of such a
plan is a new “5-Year Strategic Economic Development Plan with
Annual Graded Updates”. This is part of the “ Positioning of the City”
for current and future economic growth.
On March 29th, 2017, a forum was held to gather the public’s input
on the direction the City’s citizens want the City to progress. This has
led to incentives, through educational investment for workforce
talent, and now the discussion toward “ The Next Big Thing” and the
roadmap on how to get there.
Staff is looking to the Commission for direction regarding a Request
for Proposal (RFP).

PUBLIC COMMENTS: Time permitted, public comment shall be permitted at the
end of agenda items only and shall not exceed two minutes.
B. Discussion of the City of Deltona’s “5-year Parks Capital Improvement
Projects." - Mark Manning, Assistant Parks & Recreation Director (386)
878-8905.
Strategic Goals: Infrastructure.
Background: The City of Deltona is currently reviewing a Parks Capital
Improvement Plan with intentions of acceptance.
On April 24th, 2017, a forum was held to gather the public’s input on
what can be done to improve City parks and recreational facilities.
Staff is looking to the Commission for direction regarding this
proposed Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for the next five years
so these items may be included in the Parks five year Capital
Improvement Plan.
