CITY OF DERBY ADA ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES July 14, 2014 4:00p.m. City Hall Vitality Room In Attendance: Judy Morris, ADA Board Chairperson Polly Jones, ADA Board Member Jim Sweeney, ADA Board Member Absent: Thomas Muskus, ADA Board Member Tim Davidson, ADA Board Member City Staff: Jenny Turner, Director of Human Resources MacKensie Cornell, Admin. Asst. to Human Resources Ted Austin, Director of Operations Dale Wasinger, Project Inspector Not enough board members were present for a quorum. Jenny did ask present board members if they had any feedback on the draft ADA brochure. This lead to discussion about creating a recognition program for area businesses that have made accessibility improvements. We plan to discuss this idea further at a future meeting. Board members decided they would like the brochure to targeted to businesses and include information about tax incentives and add information regarding the recognition program. Jenny then told the board that she was planning the next City employee sensitivity training in 2015. Jenny also told the board that the transition plan had been well received at the Council meeting. There was a lot of positive feedback from Council members and they were very appreciative of the ADA Board and all their work. The meeting concluded at 4:24 p.m.
