RE: Funds for Programming.
Dee Williams requested to amend the Agenda by adding Item #9 Funds for Programming.
MOTION: Jim Burgess moved to add Agenda Item #9 Funds for Programming. Tom Davidson
seconded.
VOTE: 4 yea, motion carried.
RE: Programming on Depression.
Eleanor Underwood suggested the Senior Center offer a class on depression. Dee Williams
stated we have depression classes presented by the Mental Health Association and will continue
this year.
RE: City Council Audio.
Eleanor Underwood was approached by a member to ask if the City Council members could
speak more clearly into the microphone. Dee Williams will pass this information on to Kristy
Bansemer.

RE: Advisory Board Fund report for June and July 2014.
Diane Schmitt reported expenses were $806.99, revenue $611.55 with an ending balance for
June of $15,566.81. July expenses were $85.51, revenue $533.89 with an ending balance for
July of $16,015.19.
MOTION: Duane Day moved to receive and file the Advisory Board Fund report for June and
July 2014. Tom Davidson seconded.
VOTE: 4 yea, motion carried.

RE: Approve June 2014 Advisory Board Meeting minutes.
MOTION: Jim Burgess made a motion to approve the minutes from June 2014. Duane Day
seconded.
VOTE: 4 yea, motion carried.
Agenda Item #4
RE: Derby Dash Scholarship Fund Report.
Dee Williams reviewed the Derby Dash Scholarship Fund report; $120 in scholarships were used
in June with a balance $544.33 and $125 in scholarships were used in July with a ending balance
$419.33.
MOTION: Tom Davidson moved to receive and file the June and July 2014 Derby Dash
Scholarship Fund report. Duane Day seconded.
VOTE: 4 yea, motion carried

RE: July TNT – Hot Dogs.
Tom Davidson reported the June TNT had 43 paying patrons with 8 volunteers. The net
proceeds were $66.78. The Raffle proceeds were $215 for a total event profit of $281.78.
RE: August TNT – Taco Bar.
Tom Davidson reported the August TNT had 70 paying patrons with 9 volunteers. The net
proceeds were $140.50.

RE: Summer Fest 2014.
Dee Williams stated Saturday August 23rd is Summer Fest 2014 and asked the Advisory Board
Members to represent Senior Services at our booth. The Derby Dash will be shuttling people to
and from the parking lots
.

RE: Plastic Produce Bags Panera / Starbucks.

Kim Hart explained the Panera / Starbucks volunteers needed plastic produce bags to package
the bread. Neither Dillon’s nor Walmart are able to donate bags anymore. The cost of bags is
$72 per case which is 3,000 bags to be paid from Advisory Board funds.
MOTION: Jim Burgess made a motion to approve the purchase of four cases of plastic produce
bags at a cost of $288. Diane Schmitt seconded.
VOTE: 4 yea, motion carried.
Agenda Item #8
RE: Senior Center Directional Signs.
Jim Burgess presented a draft letter for the City Council regarding the Senior Center Directional
signs. Discussion was held. The Board felt the signs should read Senior Center not Senior
Services.
MOTION: Duane Day made a motion to send the Senior Center Directional Signs letter with
changes to the City Council, Mayor, City Manager and Assistant City Manager. Tom Davidson
seconded.
VOTE: 4 yea, motion carried
Agenda Item #9
RE: Funds for Programing.
RE: Ping Pong Robot:
Dee Williams stated Dr. Rui Ni, WSU Driving Study is bringing a Ping Pong Robot to the Senior
Center. Ping Bot is programmed for different abilities and skills. It helps with hand eye
coordination, balance and visual acuity. Dee requested $350 from the Board to purchase a ping
pong table.
RE: Dinner and Entertainment:
Dee asked for $1,200 from the Board to sponsor Dinner & Entertainment at the center.
Discussion was held.
MOTION: Tom Davidson made a motion to provide $1,550 to supplement the Dinner and
Entertainment program and purchase a ping pong table. Duane Day seconded.
VOTE: 3 yea,
1 nay, motion carried

MOTION: Duane Day made a motion for adjournment. Tom Davidson seconded.
VOTE: 4yea, motion carried
