APPROVED SUMMARY MINUTES SENIOR SERVICES ADVISORY BOARD 10:00 A.M. November 4, 2015 CITY OF DERBY ROLL CALL GERALD BROWNLEE JANICE NEAGLE JIM BURGESS DIANE SCHMITT, TREASURER TOM DAVIDSON, SECRETARY ELEANOR UNDERWOOD, CHAIRMAN DUANE DAY, VICE CHAIRMAN CITY STAFF DEE WILLIAMS KIM HART Public Forum Agenda Item #1 RE: Adopt a Panther. Dee Williams shared a thank you note from the Adopt a Panther, Tylor Lovette. RE: Accidents. Dee Williams stated several unreported accidents have occurred in the senior center parking lots. An article will be in the Prime Times newsletter about it being a criminal violation to hit someone and leave without reporting it to 911 or the owner. RE: Medicare Plan D. Dee stated the SHICK volunteers are working with patrons to help them with their Medicare prescription plans. RE: TNT Sign Up. Eleanor Underwood stated the sign up for TNT in November had to be signed up by October 30th. Tom Davidson stated the Board voted on this in the April Advisory Board Meeting, item #6. Discussion was held and it was decided Kim Hart will make signs to post above the kiosks to be sure patrons are aware of the change. Diane Schmitt brought up the TNT time and said there are not many patrons in the last half hour. Discussion was held and it was decided to readdress the time at a later date. Agenda Item #2 RE: Advisory Board Fund report for October 2015. Diane Schmitt gave the Advisory Board Fund report for October. The deposits totaled $807.50, expenditures were $273.34 with an ending balance $14,005.64. 1 MOTION: Jim Burgess moved to receive and file the Advisory Board Fund report for October. Tom Davidson seconded. VOTE: 6 yea, motion carried. Agenda Item #3 RE: Approve October 7, 2015 Advisory Board Meeting minutes. MOTION: Gerald Brownlee made a motion to approve the minutes from October 7, 2015. Diane Schmitt seconded. VOTE: 6 yea, motion carried. Agenda Item #4 RE: Approve October 2015 Derby Dash Scholarship Report. Dee Williams gave the report for the October Derby Dash Scholarship Report. There was $40 used for scholarships in October, leaving an ending balance $304.33. MOTION: Jim Burgess made a motion to approve the Derby Dash Scholarship Report for October 2015. Janice Neagle seconded. VOTE: 6 yea, motion carried. Agenda Item #5 RE: Accreditation. Dee Williams gave the Board a copy of the City of Derby Senior Services Research Policy Guidelines to review. Discussion was held. MOTION: Janice Neagle moved to receive and file the City of Derby Senior Services Research Policy Guidelines. Tom Davidson seconded. VOTE: 6 yea, motion carried. Agenda Item #6 RE: October TNT. Tom Davidson stated they served Baked Pork Loin with a total profit of $189.85 and fed a total of 72. Agenda Item #7 RE: Quilt Ticket Sales. 2 Kim Hart stated the total amount for Quilt ticket sales in October was $70. Eleanor Underwood is the Board member responsible for the November Quilt ticket sales. Agenda Item #8 RE: Cover Dish Lunch - Chicken. Kim Hart stated Gerald Brownlee is the Board Member in charge of picking up the chicken for the Covered Dish Luncheon. Agenda Item #9 RE: Bingo Funds. Kim Hart stated Edward Jones donates $50 per month towards Bingo prizes. Prizes cost approximately $95 per month. Kim asked the Board if the Bingo Card Rental funds could be d eposited to that fund in order to offset the expenses. Discussion was held and it was also decided to increase the limit of cards to 3 per person. Kim requested a donation of $300 for the Bingo fund. MOTION: Jim Burgess made a motion that the Bingo Card Rent funds be applied towards the bingo funds. Janice Neagle seconded. VOTE: 6 yea, motion carried. MOTION: Gerald Brownlee made a motion to donate $300 to the bingo fund. Diane Schmitt seconded. VOTE: 6 yea, motion carried. Agenda Item #10 RE: Vote to Cancel December Board Meeting. Dee Williams stated the December Advisory Board meeting had been canceled in the past since there is a volunteer celebration in December. Discussion was held. MOTION: Gerald Brownlee made a motion to cancel December 2nd DSC Advisory Board Meeting. Tom Davidson seconded. VOTE: 6 yea, motion carried.
