APPROVED MINUTES SENIOR SERVICES ADVISORY BOARD 10:00 AM February 1st, 2017 CITY OF DERBY ROLL CALL GERALD BROWNLEE JANICE NEAGLE JIM BURGESS DIANE SCHMITT, TREASURER TOM DAVIDSON, SECRETARY ELEANOR UNDERWOOD, CHAIRMAN-ABSENT DUANE DAY, VICE CHAIRMAN CITY STAFF BREANNA MONK KIM HART Public Forum Agenda Item #1 RE: Diane Schmitt Diane Schmitt let the Board know she will be absent at the February TNT, City Council meeting and the March Advisory Board meeting. RE: 2017 Tax Help. Jim Burgess stated the 2017 Tax help at the DSC will begin Thursday February 2nd. Agenda Item #2 RE: Advisory Board Fund Report January 2017. Diane Schmitt gave the Advisory Board Fund Report for January 2017. The expenses for January totaled $259.01 and the income was $4,601.98 with an ending balance of $21,643.41. MOTION: Tom Davidson moved to approve and file the Advisory Board Fund Report for January 2017. Gerald Brownlee seconded. VOTE: 5 yea, motion carried Agenda Item #3 RE: Approve January 4th, 2016 Advisory Board Meeting minutes MOTION: Jim Burgess made a motion to approve the minutes from the January 4th, 2017 Derby Senior Center Advisory Board meeting. Janice Neagle seconded. 1 VOTE: 5 yea, motion carried Agenda Item #4 RE: Approve January 2017 Derby Dash Scholarship Report BreAnna Monk gave the report for the January Derby Dash Scholarship Report. There was a carried over balance of $463. And $24 used in scholarships which leaves an ending balance of $439. MOTION: Duane Day made a motion to approve the Derby Dash Scholarship Report for January 2017. Tom Davidson seconded. VOTE: 5 yea, motion carried Agenda Item #5 RE: Covered Dish Gerald Brownlee will pick up the chicken for the February 2nd, 2017 Covered Dish Lunch. Agenda Item #6 RE: January 2017 TNT BreAnna Monk stated the January TNT was Chicken & Noodles with a total profit of $155.75. Agenda Item #7 RE: Fund Raising Update BreAnna Monk stated the total donations for the Derby Senior Center updates to date are $10,916.75 which includes the grant from the Derby Community Foundation and Walmart. Agenda Item #8 RE: Cornerstone Committee BreAnna let the Board know the Cornerstone committee and BreAnna met twice and walked around the center to review what is needed for the center. These improvements will be a benefit to the center. BreAnna said she wanted to speak with the Board about the amount she is allowed to make purchases without Board approval. Discussion was held. MOTION: Jim Burgess made a motion for the Administrator to have authority for purchases up to $250, with a cumulative total of $1,000 per month without Board approval. Tom Davidson seconded. 2 VOTE: 5 yea, motion carried Agenda Item #9 RE: Appointment Terms BreAnna gave applications to the four Board members that are applying for positions on the Advisory Board. Gerald Brownlee, Tom Davidson, Duane Day and Janice Neagle completed the applications. BreAnna said she will turn them in to Hillary Lawrence with the City of Derby. Agenda Item #10 RE: Budget Worksheets BreAnna Monk handed out a copy of the most recent budget sheets to each Board member. Discussion was held. Agenda Item #11 RE: The Active Age Publication BreAnna asked the Board if they would like to make a donation to The Active Age publication. BreAnna stated in the past the Board has donated in the past years. MOTION: Jim Burgess made a motion to donate $150 to The Active Age publication. Janice Neagle seconded. VOTE: 5 yea, motion carried ADJOURNMENT MOTION: Janice Neagle made a motion for adjournment. Gerald Brownlee seconded. VOTE: 5 yea, motion carried.
