UNAPPROVED MINUTES SENIOR CENTER ADVISORY BOARD 10:05 AM August 16th, 2017 CITY OF DERBY ROLL CALL GERALD BROWNLEE JANICE NEAGLE JIM BURGESS DIANE SCHMITT, TREASURER TOM DAVIDSON, SECRETARY ELEANOR UNDERWOOD, CHAIR DUANE DAY, VICE CHAIR CITY STAFF TED AUSTIN - ABSENT BREANNA MONK -ABSENT KIM HART Public Forum Agenda Item #1 RE: Board Meetings Rescheduled Duane Day suggested that when an Advisory Board meeting is rescheduled that it is not on the 3rd Wednesday because that is when Bingo takes place. There are a couple Board members that volunteer at the Bingo. Eleanor suggested it could be held at a different time or later in the day. Agenda Item #2 RE: Advisory Board Fund Report July 2017 Diane Schmitt gave the Advisory Board Fund Report for July 2017. The expenses for July totaled $11.07 and the income was $108 with an ending balance of $19,081.54. MOTION: Gerald Brownlee moved to approve and file the Advisory Board Fund Report for July 2017. Diane Schmitt seconded. VOTE: 6 yea, motion carried Agenda Item #3 RE: Approve July 5th, 2017 Minutes MOTION: Duane Day made a motion to approve the minutes from the July 5th, 2017 Derby Senior Center Advisory Board meetings. Tom Davidson seconded. VOTE: 6 yea, motion carried 1 Agenda Item #4 RE: Approve July 2017 Derby Dash Scholarship Report Kim Hart gave the report for the July 2017 Derby Dash Scholarship Report. $0 used in scholarships which leaves an ending balance of $319. MOTION: Tom Davidson made a motion to approve the Derby Dash Scholarship Report for July 2017. Janice Neagle seconded. VOTE: 6 yea, motion carried Agenda Item #5 RE: Comment Cards Kim Hart read the only comment / suggestion that was written for July. Discussion was held. Agenda Item #6 RE: Chicken Duty – Duane Day will pick up the chicken for Covered Dish in September. Agenda Item #7 RE: Center Updates Kim Hart let the Board know there are a few pictures that were purchased in July and have been hung in the Commons area of the Senior Center. Kim also let the Board know that rubber flooring has been picked out with the purchase of the flooring and installations it will cost about $1,350. Discussion was held. The Board asked for an email to let them know the specifics on cleaning and warranty. MOTION: Jim Burgess made a motion that the Board approve the purchase and installation of the rubber flooring for the Fitness Room pending there is a reasonable way to clean it and if there is a warranty. Janice Neagle seconded. VOTE: 6 yea, motion carried Agenda Item #8 RE: Can We Talk Outcome MOTION: Duane Day made a motion to table Agenda Item #8 Can We Talk Outcome until the September Advisory Board meeting. Tom Davidson seconded. VOTE: 6 yea, motion carried 2 ADJOURNMENT MOTION: Jim Burgess made a motion for adjournment. Duane Day seconded. VOTE: 6 yea, motion carried.
