Joel Fort expressed concerns regarding the "My Desert Hot Springs" mobile application, and needing extra patrol from Officers, as well as extra Code Enforcement presence, near his residence. NEW BUSINESS 1. Earthquake Preparedness The Earthquake Preparedness was postponed until the next meeting 2. Drone for Code Enforcement Use Rebecca Rodea suggested increasing Code Enforcement presence rather than using a Drone for Code Enforcement use. Steven Shaw, Deputy Chief of Police, spoke regarding Drone policies and increasing Officers. Commissioner Lavy requested to speak with the City Council to discuss Code Enforcement staffing. 3. SWAT Training Grants for Senior Officers Steven Shaw, Deputy Chief of Police, spoke regarding the requirements needed in order for Officer's to qualify for the SWAT team, and how the SWAT training is funded. 4. Mental Health Hotline Steven Shaw, Deputy Chief of Police, spoke about services being provided for mental health. Chair Meyer suggested adding a link to a mental health hotline onto the City's website. Jennifer Calkins provided a phone number to call for mental health help.
