The garage was completely destroyed by the fire and the main unit was severely damaged. Officer Messer conducted a summary abatement with the property owners consent. Please see the before and after photos below. • Code Compliance issued notices to all retail facilities regarding shopping cart containment and enforcement measures. • Compliance Officer Human was called out during the weekend to do a mobile vendor sweep. With an aggressive attack from the first two engine companies crews were able to confine the fire to the garage with no extension into the residence. Due to damage to electrical the meter will have to be pulled and building and saftey will have to respond. Occupants will be displaced due to no power. 21CARRU148706 On , CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire in an abandoned three story hotel at the above address. The first arriving company officer reported heavy smoke showing from the exterior, the responding battalion chief requested a second alarm. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the room of origin with no extension into any of the adjacent rooms. With the quick containment of the fire to the room of origin the second alarm was canceled. Desert Hot Springs Police has requested code enforcement to respond to the scene for an assessment. Southern California Edison responded to the scene and isolated power to the room of origin. No firefighters and or civilians were injured. 21CARRU151809 On , CALFIRE / Riverside County Fire received a report of a vegetation fire in the area given above. The first arriving engine reported a fire involving a mulch pile that was wind driven and spreading into the near by vegetation. Additional resources were requested due to limited water supply in the area and potential surrounding threat. The fire required extensive commitment time of firefighters and was contained to a .25 ac of mulch. The property was turned over to the land owner for additional mop up as needed. The were no injuries to firefighters or civilians reported on completion of the incident. 21CARRU152652 On , CALFIRE / Riverside County Fire department units responded to a reported gas leak at the address above. The first arriving engine company officer reported gas leaking from the ground on residential property. The owner of the residence stated he hit the gas line while working a backhoe. Protective measures were taken by the engine companies and approximately 12 residential homes were ordered to shelter in place. The gas company mitigated the leak at approximately 1240. No residents displaced after incident. No fire fighter or civilian injuries were reported. 21CARRU160774 On , CAL FIRE / Riverside County Fire Department responded to a report of a motorhome fire located in a homeless encampment south of the intersection of Two Bunch Palms and West Drive in the city of Desert Hot Springs. The first arriving engine reported one motorhome fully involved with extension into another vehicle and surrounding debris. The occupant of the motorhome suffered first degree burns to the ears as he fled from the fire. The occupant of the motorhome was treated on scene and declined transport to a local hospital. The fire was contained to the motorhome, adjacent vehicle and surrounding debris. There were no firefighter injuries. 21CARRU162173 On , CALFIRE / Riverside County Fire units responded to a reported structure fire at the address above, The first arriving Company Officer reported heavy fire from the front of the house that was being wind driven towards the back of the house. Firefighters we able to contain the fire to the original structure and car port, protecting adjacent homes that were threatened. Two adults were displaced and Red Cross was requested for assistance. There were no injuries reported on conclusion of the incident to firefighters and a minor burn injury to one civilians hand. 21CARRU163890 On , CAL Fire/ Riverside County Firefighters responded to a reported structure fire at the above address. First Unit at scene reported a single story, single family dwelling with heavy fire and smoke showing from the front of the residence. Crews made an aggressive interior attack and were able to contain the fire to the front half of the residence. It was later determined that their was one occupant at the home during the time of the fire ,but left the scene prior to Fire Dept arrival. Building and safety will have to respond to determine if house is habitable .Crews will remain on scene for the next hour for salvage and overhaul. 21CARRU168714 On , CALFIRE / Riverside County Fire units responded to a reported structure fire at the address given. First arriving Company Officer reported a single story single family dwelling with a working fire. The fire was discovered to be well established in the attic space once crews began their interior attack. The residence sustained significant fire damage despite the aggressive and coordinated fire suppression tactics by firefighters. Two vehicles in the garage were also damaged. Two adult females were displaced and Red Cross was requested. The City will need to have building officials follow up on the damaged structure. No injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported. 21CARRU173671 On , CALFIRE and Riverside County Fire units responded to a reported structure fire at the address above. The first arriving company officer reported an exterior fire that had spread into a unit of a strip mall. An aggressive fire attack by crews contained the fire to the single unit of the complex. There were no injuries report to civilians or firefighters. 21CARRU178327 On , CALFIRE / Riverside County Fire units responded to a reported structure fire at the address given. The first arriving company officer reported a single story abandon structure well involved with fire. Crews enter a defensive mode and provided protection to neighboring structures. On arrival, the first in company officer reported a large water main break in the roadway, that was flooding multiple homes in the neighborhood. Additional resources were requested to assist with surveying, and attempting to divert water from residences. On assessment of damage, 22 homes sustained water damage, and 19 people required assistance with displacements.
