Officer Human was able to bypass the three required training courses by taking this exam.  Code Compliance Officer, Tiyler Messer received an abatement warrant for an abandoned mobile home located on Sycamore Drive. The property owner removed the mobile home before the City could demolish.  Officer Messer received an inspection warrant for 66022 Desert View Avenue and abated all immediate safety issues via Summary Abatement.  Officer Messer received a demolition warrant for 68175 Club Circle Drive.  Code Compliance Officer, Linda Human had a hearing for 66856 8th Street. This hearing was for an administrative citation appeal. Officer Human won the hearing.  Code Compliance received an abatement warrant to demolish three properties at the Sahara Hotel, and an additional property began demolition at the Sahara Hotel via Summary Abatement.  Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Officer, Chaffin towed a vehicle from 65842 6th Street. This vehicle was deemed in-operable and a nuisance to the surrounding neighborhood.  Code Compliance Officer Keith Sartin obtained a consent to abate and had a tree from the public right-of-way on 1st street. 1 Item Number: 1. Upon arrival at scene of the first Engine Company Officer, light smoke was visible emitting from the structure. As firefighters were investigating the cause of the smoke, it was determined that the fire was established within the attic space. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the attic area and limit the fire damage to the rest of the residence. The residence was being utilized as a short-term rental and there were no displacements of occupants. 23CARRU037882 On , Units from CAL FIRE / Riverside County Fire, and the City of Desert Hot Springs responded to a reported structure fire in the area of 6th and Ocotillo streets. The first arriving company officer reported light smoke from the front of an abandon multifamily dwelling. Firefighters made quick access to the building and were able to locate and extinguish the fire. City of Desert Hot Springs Code Enforcement are requested to follow up. 23CARRU038592 On , CAL FIRE / Riverside County Fire and the City of Desert Hot Springs responded to a commercial structure fire at 66700 5th street in the City of Desert Hot Springs. The first arriving company officer reported an abandon two story hotel complex with fire established on the first floor, and spreading into the second story. Firefighters made an aggressive fire attack, containing the flames to two units, one on the first and one on the second floor. Fire crews will remain on scene for two hours for overhaul to extinguish hot spots. 23CARRU042871 On , CAL FIRE / Riverside County Fire and the City of Desert Hot Springs responded to reports of two buildings on fire in the area of Octotillo and 5th street in the City of Desert Hot Springs. The first arriving company officer reported established fires in two separate commercial structures. The Incident Commander requested a second alarm for staffing needs. Fire crews made an aggressive attack, containing the fire to two units of one structure, and four units of the second building. CAL FIRE Units with CAL FIRE Arson Investigators will remain on scene to determine the cause of the fires, and extinguishing hot spots. 23CARRU044432 On , CAL FIRE / Riverside County Fire and the City of Desert Hot Springs responded to a reported house fire at 66604 Cahuilla Av in the City of Desert Hot Springs. The first arriving company officer reported a single store abandoned residence with smoke visible. The first arriving Company Officer reported a stack of pallets burning on the exterior of the structure with fire extension into the interior of the structure. Firefighters quickly extinguished the burning pallets and transitioned to an interior fire attack. The interior attack was able to rapidly confine the fire and minimize interior extension and damage to the structure. Primary and secondary searches of the building revealed no occupants. The property was turned over to the building owner. 23CARRU004744 On , CAL FIRE / Riverside County Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in the area of 20th Avenue and Beacon Way in the city of Desert Hot Springs. The first arriving fire resource reported two fires. The first fire included a well involved abandoned mobile home, discarded debris and tamarisk trees; the second fire involved discarded debris approximately 100' X 50' in size. Due to the size of the fire and lack of water in the area, additional resources were ordered to assist with extinguishment. Fire crews will remain on scene for the next 2 hours mopping up and checking for hot spots. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries on this incident. 23CARRU005900 On , CAL FIRE / Riverside County firefighters responded to multiple reports of a residential structure fire at the 66600 block of Cahuilla Avenue in the City of Desert Hot Springs. The first arriving company officer reported light smoke from the structure and a well-established kitchen fire. Additional arriving resources assisted with an aggressive coordinated interior attack. All occupants of the residence evacuated prior to firefighter's arrival and were accounted for. The fire was quickly contained and the threat to adjacent residences was mitigated. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported. Cahuilla Avenue between Palm Drive and Ocotillo Road was closed for the duration of the incident. The scene was turned over to City of Desert Hot Springs Building Department and Desert Hot Springs Code Compliance. 23CARRU018763 On , 40 x 40 Homeless encampment refuge fire in downtown DHS West X 15th. The smoke impacted drivers on Palm Ave for approximately 30 minutes. 23CARRU022144 On , CAL FIRE / Riverside County Firefighters were dispatched to a reported vehicle into a building at 10991 Santa Cruz Rd in the City of Desert Hot Springs. First arriving Engine Company reported a single vehicle into a residential structure with one party trapped under the vehicle and a significant gas leak. Firefighters were able to quickly extricate the patient and transfer care to an awaiting ambulance that transported the patient to Desert Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries. Both Edison and the Gas Company were requested to the scene to mitigate the gas leak and remove the electric meter from the residence. Desert Hot Springs PD made notification to City Building and Safety Officials. Firefighters would remain on scene until the vehicle was safely removed from the structure and the gas leak is mitigated. 23CARRU026347 On , CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters observed a fire at the above location while at scene of a medical aid. After making access, Firefighters found an abandoned residential structure that had been completely engulfed in fire. 23CARRU026347 On , CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department resources were dispatched to a reported structure fire at the old White House Spa Hotel. The first arriving Engine Company Officer reported a multi-story abandoned hotel with heavy fire involvement. Additional resources were added to the assignment and the fire was contained to a total of four rooms. 23CARRU031135 On , CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department resources were dispatched to a reported structure fire at the address listed.
