The first arriving fire engine reported moderate smoke coming from a single-story single-family residence. Firefighters made entry into the unoccupied residence and quickly extinguished the fire in the bedroom. City notification was made to secure the residence. Fire crews will remain on scene checking for hot spots. 23CARRU085201 On , CALFIRE / Riverside County Fire responded to an infant drowning in the City of Desert Hot Springs. The first arriving Fire Department resource at scene 7/18/2023 12:34:00PM reported 3 to 4 Mobile Homes involved with fire with a significant threat to an additional 71 Mobile Homes. Due to the tight confines of the trailer park, a 500 gallon propane tank on fire and heavy wind conditions, all 71 trailers within the Trailer Park were evacuated for civilian life safety. The fire spread into an adjoining tamarisk row and threatened several commercial buildings and a gas station. 23CARRU109045 On , CALFIRE Riverside County Fire Department resources were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 19400 Beacon way in the city of Desert Hot Springs. The first arriving engine reported no 7/26/2023 3:21:00AM visible smoke or flames. Upon further investigation, the engine company found a detached apartment from the main residence that had fire damage in 2 rooms, with smoke damage throughout the apartment. 1 adult female will be displaced. CALFIRE/Riverside County Fire Department Arson Investigators are investigating the incident. 23CARRU111570 On , CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department resources were dispatched to a traffic collision involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle. The first arriving Fire Department resource 7/30/2023 6:14:00PM advised of a two-vehicle traffic collision with a fuel leak. The Riverside County Fire Department Hazardous Materials Response Team and Riverside County Environmental Health were requested to assist in mitigation the fuel leak. Upon arrival they found a 5 unit strip mall 8/7/2023 3:27:00PM with significant water flow and evacuations in progress. Upon further investigation firefighters found a light amount of smoke with in one if the units. The source of the fire was located in one of the pillars in the front of the building and into a small section of the parapet. The 2 center units suffered heavy water damage. 3 out of the 5 units were occupied and all displaced. City officials have been notified and on scene. 23CARRU117706 On , CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department units were dispatched to a commercial structure fire located at the location above. The first arriving fire department resource reported smoke 8/11/2023 10:15:00AM coming from a commercial cannabis warehouse with evacuations underway. 23CARRU118306 On , CAL FIRE/Riverside County fire responded to reports of a natural gas leak at the reported location. The first arriving company officer reported a two to three-inch gas line that was struck by 8/12/2023 1:36:00PM a construction crew. Unified command was established with Desert Hot Springs Police Department in order to evacuate 20 homes. The gas company mitigated the hazard at 4:42 PM. All evacuations orders lifted at 4:45 PM. 23CARRU118456 On , CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department resources were dispatched to a reported structure fire at the intersection of Cactus and Buena Vista Dr. The first arriving Engine Company 8/12/2023 7:44:00PM reported heavy smoke emitting from the structure and the possibility of trapped occupants. The Fire Department staff entered the structure to search for occupants while coordinating ventilation and suppression of the fire. No occupants were located within the structure and one canine was found injured. The City of Desert Hot Springs Animal Care and Control took possession of the injured canine. The structure was determined to be unoccupied, and the City of Desert Hot Springs Building and Safety Division secured the structure. 23CARRU122127 On , CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department resources were dispatched to a reported vegetation fire in the desert area off of Camino Campanero in the City of Desert Hot Springs. The 8/19/2023 4:42:00PM first arriving Fire Engine Officer reported a large fire within a homeless encampment with a threat to the surrounding vegetation. The fire was established in a makeshift subterranean encampment and needed heavy overhaul to fully extinguish. 23CARRU126112 On , CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department resources were dispatched to a traffic collision reported with occupants trapped within a vehicle. The first arriving fire engine reported a vegetation fire approximately 2 acres in size burning in medium to thick vegetation along with multiple homeless encampments. Fire crews were hampered in extinguishing the fire due to high winds and exploding propane tanks. An evacuation warning was initiated to the area of Miracle Hill Drive and Hacienda Avenue. The fire was contained at 7:38 PM and the evacuation warning was lifted. One civilian suffered a back injury and was transported to a local area hospital; additionally, there were no fire fighter injuries. Fire crews will remain on scene for an additional 4 hours putting out hot spots. 23CARRU055081 On , CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire with an occupant trapped inside the residence. Upon the arrival of the first Fire Engine, heavy smoke was emitting from the structure. Firefighters entered the structure in an attempt to rescue the trapped occupant and found the occupant deceased. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the room of origin. The residence was red tagged by City of Desert Hot Springs Code Enforcement and Red Cross is assisting the displaced occupants. 23CARRU062939 On , CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department resources were dispatched to smoke from a structure in the area of Palm Drive and Mission Lakes Dr. The first arriving Fire Engine Company Officer located a single-story residential structure charged with smoke. Firefighters made access into the structure and found the fire established in an area that had been converted into a storage facility. Desert Hot Springs Police made City Building and Safety notifications for City follow-up. 23CARRU076303 On , CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department resources were dispatched to a traffic collision with multiple vehicles and possible fire on Two Bunch Palms and Little Morongo Rd. The first arriving Company Officer reported 4 vehicles involved with 4 to 5 patients and requested additional Fire Engines and ground ambulances to respond to the scene. There was a total of 4 patients with moderate injuries and all were transported to a local trauma center. 23CARRU083687 On , CAL FIRE / Riverside County Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire at 66025 14th Street in the city of Desert Hot Springs.
