The property had multiple violations, including being an unsecured vacant property, having a hazardous electrical panel, storing trash and junk on the premises, lacking a business license, having dilapidated stucco and paint, containing illegal electrical additions, and having a dilapidated driveway. Officer Human coordinated a property abatement on September 14, 2023, that involved taking steps to secure the building by hiring a contractor to board up the windows and remove all excess trash and debris from the property. Following these efforts, the property was sold in October 2023. The new property owners took the necessary steps to bring the property into compliance after several months.  Compliance Officer Linda Human, Supervisor Tyler Messer, and Principal Planner Patricia Villagomez held a CUP 15-16 revocation hearing for the former Under Pressure cultivation located at 14250 Little Morongo Road. The business was established in 2016 and was sold to the current owner, Empire 6, in 2020. However, the current owner failed to comply with the CUP 15-16 conditions of approval, which included engineering requirements. The Administrative Hearing Officer upheld the decision to revoke their CUP, effectively prohibiting them from operating within the city.  Compliance Officer Linda Human recently closed a long-standing case involving a single- family residential home located at 9330 Calle Escorial. The occupants were evicted from the residence, and the lender foreclosed on the property. The bank took appropriate action to clean and address all outstanding violations.  Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Officer Pamela Chaffin towed an inoperable Chevy El Camino from the public right-of-way. This vehicle had a previous Code Compliance case for the same violation. Officer Chaffin sent the registered owner a 10-day Notice to Abate via certified mail. The property owner did not take any action to address the violation, so the vehicle was towed under the county’s Abandoned Vehicle Abatement program. The before and after.  Compliance Officer Loni Brock and Compliance Supervisor Tiyler Messer attended an administrative hearing for a license revocation at 10625 San Miguel Road. The property was found to be in violation of operating a short-term vacation rental under the entitlements of 1 Item Number: 2. Additionally, the property had a recent child drowning and was in violation of occupancy standards. The Administrative Hearing officer upheld the decision to revoke their short-term vacation rental permit.  Compliance Officer Linda Human has resolved a longstanding code violation case for the property located at 66125 2nd Street. The property was previously occupied by trespassers and was littered with trash and debris. Officer Human sent multiple notices of violation to the property owner to alert them of the property’s condition. The property owner subsequently informed Officer Human that they were involved in litigation concerning the property. However, by January 2024, the property owner was able to resume construction on the property after obtaining the necessary building permits and taking the appropriate steps to bring the property back into compliance. The first Engine at scene (Engine 37) reported a single story multi-family residence well involved 8/13/2024 9:21:00AM with fire. The engine companies were able to confirm all occupants were safely evacuated. The crews were able to get knock down on the fire. The structure was a complete loss with roof collapse. Fire did extend into a brush pile on the eastern adjacent property with no extension to the structure. One firefighter was transported to Desert Regional Hospital with minor injuries. Red Cross has been notified due to 4 adults being displaced. Engine companies will remain at scene for 3-4 hours for salvage and overhaul. Building and Safety will need to assess the structure. 24CARRU129180 CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department resources responded to the above address for a reported ringing alarm. The first arriving company officer reported an extinguished fire within a 8/6/2024 4:00:00AM commercial grow facility. The commercial sprinkler suppression system had kept the fire from spreading to adjacent rooms. Due to smoke damage, there was significant product damage. City Building and Safety will be needed to assess the building, and managers of the facility have been placed on fire watch until the sprinkler system can be recertified. 9/1/2024 1:40:15PM Item Number: 4.
