Housing Authority Meeting

Dodgeville Housing Authority (DHA) Minutes April 8, 2026 Present at Dodgeville City Hall in Dodgeville: Commissioners Terry Edwards, Tom DeVoss, Patricia Rock, Jeff Thomas, Mary Pipal, and John Ziehr. Present via Zoom: Commissioner Gretta Stilson, and Cindy Knutson and Lori Saley representing Allegiant Property Management. Chairman Edwards called the meeting to order at 10:01 a.m. Mary Pipal made the motion, Patricia Rock second, to approve the Certification of Public Notice and Agenda. Motion passed unanimously. Terry Edwards presented the minutes from the March 11, 2026 meeting. John Ziehr made the motion, Patricia Rock second, to approve the minutes as presented. Motion passed unanimously. The financial report for March was presented by Lori Saley. Jeff Thomas made the motion, Gretta Stilson second, to approve the financials as presented, motion passed unanimously. Program Updates:  Lori Saley provided the Housing Choice Voucher program update. DHA currently has 55 lease-ups, the same number from the time it was last reviewed at our March meeting. There are 13 potential clients on the waiting list with an additional two vouchers issued but not yet leased. Due to the uncertainty of future HUD funding, all waiting list and voucher activity continues to be suspended.  The PIC monitoring rating was 100% with DHA in full compliance. Two port-outs are appearing on the PIC report. As we believe we only have one port-out, Lori will investigate and report back to the board at the May meeting. The following was reviewed under New Business:  None The following was reviewed under Old Business:  Cindy Knutson reported that DHA has provided all information requested by the City of Dodgeville auditors.  Gretta Stilson reported that R&S rentals has withdrawn its application for funds under the WRRP landlord grant program. We have $4,066.36 in remaining funds. Gretta will reach out to other landlords to see if they could use the funds for improvements and report to the board at our May meeting.  Terry Edwards reported that the faulty DHA link on the city’s website has been repaired.  Terry Edwards reported that he has received application letters from four of the eight DHA clients who expressed interest in the board opening. He will reach out to the other four and give them a May 1st deadline. The next meeting of DHA will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Dodgeville City Hall with a Zoom option available. There being no further business, Mary Pipal made the motion, Patricia Rock second, to adjourn the meeting at 10:34 a.m. Motion passed unanimously.
