Housing Authority Meeting

Dodgeville Housing Authority (DHA) Minutes March 11, 2026 Present at Dodgeville City Hall in Dodgeville: Commissioners Terry Edwards, Tom DeVoss, Patricia Rock, Jeff Thomas and John Ziehr. Present via Zoom: Commissioner Gretta Stilson and Cindy Knutson and Lori Saley representing Allegiant Property Management. Excused: Commissioner Mary Pipal. Chairman Edwards called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. Jeff Thomas made the motion, Patricia Rock second, to approve the Certification of Public Notice and Agenda. Motion passed unanimously. Terry Edwards presented the minutes from the February 11, 2026 meeting. Tom DeVoss made the motion, John Ziehr second, to approve the minutes as presented. Motion passed unanimously. The financial report for February was presented by Cindy Knutson. Gretta Stilson made the motion, Patricia Rock second, to approve the financials as presented, motion passed unanimously. Program Updates:  Lori Saley provided the Housing Choice Voucher program update. DHA currently has 55 lease-ups, down one from the time it was last reviewed at our February meeting. There are 13 potential clients on the waiting list with an additional two vouchers issued but not yet leased. Due to the uncertainty of future HUD funding, all waiting list and voucher activity continues to be suspended.  The PIC monitoring rating was 100% with DHA in full compliance. The following was reviewed under New Business:  Cindy reported that the City of Dodgeville audit is underway. Allegiant has provided DHA financial information to the auditors as requested.  Lori reported that Allegiant is working with HUD, utilizing the two-year tool to prevent future DHA cash shortfalls. The following was reviewed under Old Business:  The board reviewed the one remaining project for the WRRP Landlord Grant program. Gretta will reach out to R&S Rentals to determine a final completion date for its project.  Terry reported that eight clients have expressed an interest in the future board opening. A letter is being sent to these clients, asking them to complete a one- page essay, detailing why they would like to serve on the housing authority board. These letters will be reviewed and a decision made at our April meeting.  Lori and Cindy will work with the City of Dodgeville to correct an unresponsive link relating to DHA on its website. The next meeting of DHA will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Dodgeville City Hall with a Zoom option available. There being no further business, John Ziehr made the motion, Gretta Stilson second, to adjourn the meeting at 10:33 a.m. Motion passed unanimously.
