Economic Development Advisory Board Meeting Minutes Thursday, May 9, 2024 – 6:00 p.m. Members Present: Otto Mills, Heather Mahaley, Jason Wood, John West, Rick Brown, Doreen McVaugh for the Doylestown Historical Society, and Doylestown Borough Manager John Davis The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm. Approval of Minutes – Approved as submitted. Comprehensive Plan Update – Heather gave an overview of where the Planning Commission is with the process of reviewing the draft document provided by Lynn Bush and how the County’s Planning Commission will use it as a guide to create the final Comprehensive Plan. Discover Doylestown Project – None Doylestown Cultural District Report – None Doylestown Historical Society Report – Doreen McVaugh shared an update from the Historical Society. Social Media Report – John shared Caitlin’s report on the social media channels and how they are performing. Economic Development Report – John also shared Caitlin’s development reports on the town's various new businesses and restaurants. The Board had a lengthy conversation regarding the recent developments that have been approved in town, such as the hotel, the new Target, and the apartments being built on the Intelligencer property. DART Report - None Mayor’s Report – None Old/New Business – Under New Business, Otto reminded the members that they do not typically meet in July and August. John let everyone know he and Caitlin are considering a work session this summer. Heather would like the EDAB to be used as a sounding board for residents to voice their concerns.
