Economic Development Advisory Board Meeting Minutes Thursday, June 13, 2024 – 5:00 p.m. Members Present: Otto Mills, Heather Mahaley, Jason Wood, John West, Rick Brown, Marjan Shirzad of the Mercer Museum and Fonthill Castle, Kris Boger (via Zoom), Doreen McVaugh for the Doylestown Historical Society, and Recreation Director Caitlin Hernandez The meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm. Approval of Minutes – Approved as submitted. Survey Discussion—Otto reminded the Board of John’s suggestion to send in potential questions for a survey. One question was about the point of the study. Are we trying to get the community's pulse or looking for something else? Who will the survey be sent to? The board discussed items that should be included in a potential study. Comprehensive Plan Update – Heather shared an update on the Comprehensive Plan and where the Planning Commission is on the timeline for completion. Discover Doylestown Project – Kris updated the Board on the Discover Doylestown activities. The Arts Fest has booked all its vendors for 2024. There are approximately 280 people on the waitlist. Pride events have started, and we have planned a whole month of activities. The Christmas tree has been selected from Bountiful Acres. The membership drive will begin later in the Fall. The flower baskets throughout town are thriving, and they all look beautiful. Doylestown Cultural District Report – Marjan shared the cultural report. Attendance has increased across the board at all the museums. The Doan exhibition is open and will run through 2026. Doylestown Historical Society Report: Doreen McVaugh shared an update from the Historical Society and brought photos of the recent upgrades at the Historical Society park. Social Media Report – Caitlin shared her report for the Borough’s various social media channels. Economic Development Report – Caitlin updated the Board on new businesses and restaurants moving into town. DART Report - None Mayor’s Report – None Old/New Business – None There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:05 pm.
