Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, December 5, 2024 6:00 PM
Present: Committee Members Liz Wyckoff (Chairperson), Joe Frederick, and Dennis Livrone.
Recreation and Special Event Coordinator Caitlin Hernandez was also in attendance.
The Minutes from October 1, 2024, were approved as submitted.
The Recycling Grant Resolution was shared with the committee members. Since the previous resolution
had expired, it was time to renew it. A motion was made and seconded to renew the Recycling Grant
Resolution.
Liz shared the Pump Track update. Liz spoke about funding and noted how fundraising will be necessary
for this to work with the budget. Liz showed renderings provided by the contractor for similar-sized tracks
that he was working on. Joe asked what would happen if the funds were unable to be raised. It will be
unsafe and unusable at some point, so there is no option not to raise enough funds if we want the track
to remain.
Liz explained the Route Around Doylestown concept. The committee members were shown the options
for various routes, and safety and other concerns were discussed.
Liz shared a brief update on the Bike Advisory Committee. No one had questions about the bike-friendly
status or what needs to be addressed.
Liz gave information on the Holiday Lights Ride, which will take place next week. We will be leaving from
Borough Hall. If needed, there is an inclement weather date.
Caitlin explained the request from the DAA for Temporary Fencing. It will be advertising on the fences
and will only be on them for approximately 6 months. A motion was made and seconded for approval.
Caitlin shared the Allora Craft Workshop Proposal. The Park and Rec board had some concerns about the
appearance of the Borough partnering with one business. The question that came up was, do we want to
open Chambers up for the public to rent for a fee, or do we want an exclusive partnership with one
business owner responsible for running a Borough-sponsored program? We have a history of working
with “for-profit” businesses (i.e., Soccer Shots), so this is not unprecedented. There needs to be an
emphasis on the “partnership” portion of the agreement. Caitlin will take this feedback to the Park and
Rec Board for another vote.
Caitlin gave the Recreation Director’s Report. Aside from the trees added to the Broad Commons, there
are a few updates to share. Wood Street Park had drainage installed in preparation for the Bocce courts.
Caitlin gave numbers on the various activities, including the Scenic Stroll and Soccer Shots program.
Old/New Business: Under Old Business, Dennis brought up the DCAP and questioned its status. The Comp
Plan and the DCAP should be ready to be reviewed in January. Under New Business, Caitlin shared a
proposal from Joe Montone to host a concert series in Broad Commons. Caitlin shared the financials
involved with hosting a series like this. The Committee made a motion to move this concept onto the
Council for a formal vote to approve the Concert Series at Broad Commons.
There being no other business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 6:50 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Erika Fellman
