EAC August 20, 2024 Minutes
Members in Attendance: George Mullikin, Grant Alger, Steven Nelson, Dan Ford, David Riedel, P.R. West, Karen
Graziano, and Building and Zoning Director Karyn Hyland.
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm.
Approval of Minutes June 18, 2024: Minutes were approved as amended.
Film Showing (Karyn): Doylestown Presbyterian Church reserved Borough Hall on Friday, September 6, 2024,
for a film screening. They would like the EAC to co-host the event. Based on the film's trailer, the members of
the EAC believe the film is too inflammatory. The EAC suggests a more science-based film with positive advocacy.
As such, they will not be co-hosting the film presentation. The members of the EAC would like to invite the
congregation members to an EAC meeting for further discussion about a film series.
Reports:
Farmer’s Market/Outreach & Communication (Dan and Grant): There was a consensus that, given the
current political climate, limiting exposure at the Farmer’s Market may be best. Initially, the group was
going to attend in September and October. The last outdoor market is scheduled for mid-November.
DCAP (Steve): The subcommittee was given 15 short-term, high-priority action items for the Planning
Commission to consider as part of the Comprehensive Plan. Steve reviewed each item with the group
and will take feedback into account for further development of DCAP with the goal of incorporating
these items into the Borough’s Comprehensive Plan.
Bird Town (Grant): Grant will have information for the next meeting regarding the potential for
consultation on habitats. Besides that, Bird Town has had limited activity during the slower summer
months. Grant would like to host a bird walk before winter migration, and the “Lights Out” initiative
begins.
Comprehensive Plan Update (P.R.): No report
Index of Open Areas (Dan): Dan is progressing with the Index of Open Areas and how the data can be
utilized.
Old/New Business: Under Old Business, Karen G. wanted to know if there is a plan for pet waste stations
throughout the Borough, specifically in the downtown area. Karyn H. let her know this topic has been broached
before; unfortunately, it is currently not feasible.
Adjournment: There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 9:09 pm
