Members of the commission in attendance were: Lisa Moscherosch, Baldev Lamba, Christopher May, Jean Weston, and Kayvon Tabatabai. Also in attendance were Borough Arborist Bob McMullin, Building & Zoning Director, Karyn Hyland, Park and Recreation Director, Dave Burger. Applicants Nick & Jean Chubb, Matt Broad, Mark & Irene Feingold, Amir Gaballa, Kyle Schipper & Sara Salvo. Call to Order: Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm Approval of Minutes: The May minutes were approved by those in attendance. Note that the tree had already been taken down. (MOSCHEROSCH/WESTON) Old/New Business: 1. Street Tree Planting Project: Dave Burger requested clarification on tree planting locations for 675-717 Stryker. Lisa scheduled a committee meeting for Saturday, August 24, 2024, to finalize species and locations for new tree applications. While the list of recommended tree species remains unchanged from the spring, availability issues may require some trees to be planted in the spring instead of this fall. Dave plans to purchase and plant as many trees as possible this fall, with any remaining trees to be planted in Spring 2025. The committee needs to determine the types and locations of trees to ensure timely planting. 2. May recommended that the borough reach out to all contractors working in the area and inform them of the rules and regulations regarding tree removal. This would help educate contractors about permit requirements and potentially reduce the number of trees being removed without proper approvals.. Reports: 1. Chairperson Report: None 2. Arborist’s Report: Bob McMullin reported improvements in terminal Beech Leaf Disease with the use of Thiobiozonal and fertilization. Observations are based on two years of monitoring, and early results are hopeful.
